  1. Klink says so.

  4. This is the "Main hall" not "BF 2142 hall". And we are a gaming community, IMO.
  5. I'd go there Stev0, but xorcon's brother's guild is on Burning Blade.
  6. Yeah honestly, subscription fees are nothing. $15 a month? Common now... Considering a game I pay $50 for may last me a month or two its a cheaper investment. BTW, I started a horde character on "Burning blade". (PVP server). edit: it's an orc shaman .
  7. Btw, i'm only playing WoW until Age of conan comes out around april. =). I kinda wanna start a horde guy on a PvP server as an alt. IDK though.
  8. Lol. btw guys, you playing on a PvP or PvE server?
  9. Don't be 'dissin the night elf. Level 25 now. >_>... Also, i'm alliance because my friends are.

  11. Sorry. I would but i'm playing with Jairyn/Xorcon and xorcon's friend. . Don't wanna leave 'em .
  12. . If anyone is currious, i'm on the "Hellscream" server, alliance side.
  13. Blame Jairyn and Xorcon, btw http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/6206/nadrilpicturegh1.png So, it's just that time eh? Well, recently (about a week and a half ago) my friends were talking about starting up WoW again. Now, I obviously was thinking "no...." because I didn't want to bother with another sub and didn't really want to try WoW after so much I have criticised it for. Well, it happened. Found out that pretty much all of my friends, some that I haven't talked to in a while, were going to play. So, I started a bit more than a week ago. I decided that, since I'm probaly going to play it for a while (until Age of Conan comes out) I should look at it completly unbaised. Now, it's time. Time to get my completly unbiased review of the game I have seemingly unfairly loathed. Nadril's review of World of Warcraft: So, a bit of backstory first on what I've been doing. I started the game playing as a human mage with one of my good friends. Apon entering the game I was treated to a guy standing next to me with a big "!" above his head. Obviously, this was a quest. So, I started it up with him and got used to everything in the game. It was fairly easy to get used to, and some of the later quests can prove to be a challange. Well, fast foward a good bit through character rerolls (lvl 13 mage, lvl 19 warrior.) and I hit a point where a good friend of mine (whom i've been hoping MMO's with for the past 2 years) decides he might transfer over his 60 rouge to one of his friends servers. Again, I was a bit angry but after hearing another one of my friends would join him I agreed. Now, to start the actual story of my current character, Nadril. I joined up on the server starting a Night elf hunter. Imediatly I was invited into a friends clan with a ton of active players, including a lot of 60's. Within a day I had 15g and full 14 slot bags from my friends 60 rouge. Wink . Anyways, I started up and finaly found the class I liked. A powerful pet and even more powerful weapons. So, have I bored you? Hopfully not yet, because now it is time for the actual review. The graphics. These were one of the things I've bashed on in the past, but after playing through them (from a purly nutral standpoint) they work very nice. The character models flow quite well and their movement isn't choppy. Obviously, it was crafted quite well. It may not be my ideal style, but as far as it goes it does have a good style, even if it isn't completly what I would want. The sound was a good suprise as well. Plenty of voice emotes, and combat sounded good as well. And, of course, the music. I haven't really heard any music in dungeons but from what I've heard from the towns: Great. Stormwind's entire theme (musicaly) is just awsome, and Ironforge as well. They did a good job matching the music to the location. Now, the combat. Another "big one" in MMO's. The combat I found was for the most part: great. First of all, I enjoy the feel each character has while playing. From a mage who rellys completly on their mana to the rouge with their sustatined dps and combos and the Warrior building up rage, it was a good mix. Characters generaly "feel" different, which is a very big thing when looking at a replay factor. One of the reasons I ended up quiting Everquest II, in fact, was because all the characters felt the same, just with a different skin and abilitys. Fighting when it starts off is a mixed bag as always, depending on the class. Some classes I found have it very easy in the begining, while others suffer. (mostly hunters I found, because they don't get a pet [their main selling point] until 10). However, for the most part what you played in the begining was a lot like playing it in the end, just without near as many cool tricks to do and pull off. As I've gotten higher level I have enjoyed the combat. Being a hunter I have also found my self with a myriad of combat options in fight. Should I let my pet tank? Or perhaps I should tank, so that I could get a ranged start and then head to melee when it gets close? Or, if there are 2 of them, have my pet tank one and me tank one? PvP is also something I feel I should put in this section. The PvP I found was enjoyable. I didn't like the fact that sometimes (when it was busy) I would have to wait possibly 20mins to get into a battlegrounds, but once I got in there I had fun. I did notice this whole "horde is better!" thing during fights. It might not be as noticable to me since I've had a decent record sometimes during fights as well, but they do seem to win more. Another slight complaint with the PvP is on how hard it is to get a real good ballanced fight. Generaly what I find is that each side just completly dominates the other. I realy have not been in any "fair fights" where it has been close. Sometimes as well I will find myself in a group of all lvl 14's whilest the enemy team has full level 19's in some of the best gear they can find. There isn't much to fix that though since it is all random (at best). The PvE is deffinitly what makes the game shine, however. I realize that these "quests" are simply hiding the grind, but honestly, doesn't everyone try to hide it anyways? "oh look, i'm not really killing 500 monsters, i'm listening to music!". It simply solves the problem for its self. I have found that in some instances you might get stuck in a bit of a jam to where all the quests around you are just green or red, but on my hunter that hasen't been a problem so far. Also, the controls. Very fluid and I like the camera. Not much to say there. I should also mention the UI. While the "base thing" is not very customizable, you have an incredible ammount of options the second you start to download stuff. I have so many things running right now it's unbelivable, aditions such as Damage parsers (to record the dps I am doing) to things that can show me my opponents HP and what abilitys something has when I tame it. It really does enchance the game experience. So, overall? Well, I partily think maybe it is "too soon" to give a deffinite answer on the game. You may see something from me in the future along the lines of "WoW end game review!" since the two are very different "games" in that sense. Overall I would give the game an average rating of 9.2. While it may just be another one of those (MMO's) it was crafted very well, and what can I say? It's fun. It may not have the risk and 'ubah PvP I am looking for in a game, but for something you just want to play and have a bit of fun, it's a game you should check out. I do regret giving my opinion before without actualy giving the game a fair try and, hopefully, this will clarify my now current possition on the game.
