Yes you can play BF2 with the 9100. it plays fine with my System. AMD at 2000mhz, 200 FSB pc3200 512mb of ram, 9100 overclocked, all settings on low or off and 800x600 res. The 9100 beats the GF TI4200 in Steam/HL games in FPS for the most part. It benches in 3dmark a little slower than the 4200 but other games it runs prety close as long as you overclock it a little.

AMD's chips are faster per clock cycle than Intel so I would not use this card unless I had a 2.4mhz Intel proc. AMD I am using it on an AMD (overclocked Sempron) 2000mhz proc and it is fine on 32 player servers settings on Low.

It must be a hardware issue. 10 mins even 20 consistently is sounding more like it all the time. I would borrow a different videocard or buy one from bestbuy ( just to return it ) All possibilities must be explored. When you lock up. What is your system temp.? Download and run motherboard monitor. Configure it and run it while you run BF2 and see if you are experiencing voltage drops, overheating or fans turning off. Could be a PS rail getting overjuiced or your CPU getting too hot or your vidcard doing the same.

goto run type in msconfig enter goto startup tab uncheck everything you do not want to atart up with your computer I have 35 processes and that seems good for me and I run a lean computer so you are fine.
