yeah you can, those are called solar flares. theyre really nice to look at through a filter, but you cant look at them directly or you'll burn your eyes

i really cant explain that, maybe because its a rare occurence and probably the first time many of them have seen one. the video is still pretty cool though, i like how the corona (outer rays of the sun) get bigger when it goes behind the moon
