  1. I've seen nearly every episode of Family Guy and it doesn't compare. ATHF 100x> Family Guy.
  2. The way we got around blocked content was to just view the cached version of it from a google search, probably doesn't help here. Forgot what other ideas we'd come up with for getting around that stupid block that didn't do anything good (for exampel you still could go to penis.net).
  3. ATHF is the best thing on Adult Swim followed by Venture Bros. and Sealab. I have all of the first three seasons and two of season four. Best episode is the Universal Remonter, followed by Super Spore and then Total Re-Carl. My roomate and I have almost all of Universal Remonster memorized sadly (a long with a number of other lines).
  4. Well I don't know how proning will work, hitbox issues should be taken care of by the engine itself, weapons are being worked on (if you want to see the ideas stop on by the new site). I can't say about the sounds yet. It's gonna be good, you'll see. http://elfingo.com/far/
  5. FA 2.9 is not all that it can possibly be; 3.0 won't deal with some of the major issues that FA has (part of which is just the HL engine). As such it is incomplete, and since the community is still willingly to run with it, it isn't dead. Either way this team is placing it aside, I'm just picking it up.
  6. Actually the FA ones tend to just out oddly because it's a Cube like box around a spherical object, so you'll sometimes see a shot register even though it's not hitting their head. Also, HL2 uses poly-based hitboxes which is partly why FA:R will kick a$$.
  7. And I had a great response to that: "The team (whether or not they chose to) is abandoning a mod that's not dead. I see no problem claiming that which has been cast aside as garbage." Further more I've played on the HL2 engine and the movement is amazingly similiar to FA since they added sprint (the physics engine hasn't change much, why do you think the HL2 vehicles are still so buggy). Durandal is amazingly similiar on source (this is the HL2 engine, not a beta of FA:R).
  8. Open a model in a model viewer (like Jed's) and select "Show hitboxes"
  9. Everyone is overreacting here. Take a moment, count to ten, calm down and try again. heh that rhymes...
  10. Yeah counter strike sucks.
  11. Also when you prone (depends what weapon) you hold the gun in front of your face (same with a pistol). Keep in mind the biggest problem FA has with hitboxes are head shots from behind. The models tend to hunch a lot so it can be really hard to get a head shot from behind. Often you have to hit the top of the model but that can be odd because the animations have him cocking his head to the side, so imagine a cube where his head is and then turn it to compensate. Also I don't know how well hits register on the hitboxes which also matters. Other issues with the hitboxes have included "wall crouching" where the hitboxes on walls/objects just out and clip those of the player so that the shots register on the wall instead of the person. That's a big problem for corner camping, if anyone has knifed someone standing against a wall and you're against the wall facing them you'll stab and hear your knife strike the wall instead of their head, very annnoying.
  12. It should be, they're still writing code, I've only seen the map so far. If you want to see the progress they've made check here: http://farevival.proboards33.com/index.cgi?board=news&action=display&num=1102262621 If for no other reason it should be better than current FA the hitboxes are poly based on the HL2 engine which means a lot of issues regarding hit registration will be fixed.
  13. Actually FA:R is doing pretty well, right now I'm testing a durandal "like" map for FA:R
  14. IIRC you pm them, instead of posting on the forums.
  15. Hey I thought valve was great when I first got HL, but I've since changed my opinion.
  16. check my post, you know, the one that comes before you posted your response to my first post...
  17. wait you have the get one free thingie and you're gonna buy it?
  18. Oh I just wanted to mess with you guys. Don't blame me if your consceince bothers you, I'm not offended by the post, although I don't personally find it funny, and quite frankly I could care less if you guys think it is funny or not. I just thought it would be an interesting point to make since no one considered the implication.
  19. I'm glad we can all put aside our differences and laugh at the idea of people who explode themselves in the hopes of killing others in mass.
  20. Gigabyte did my mobo, works well, and I am not gonna loose that slip of paper, ever since I started playing HL back in 98 I've loved it, and when I found out there was gonna be a second one I knew I had to get it immedietly.
  21. I got my 9600 that came with it and I have no clue what you mean by "expire". It says no where on it that it will expire in 2003, it states "Please note, your FREE copy of Half-Life 2 will be sent to you once the game is made publicly availible." It comes with an activation code as well, something I'm guessing that will not expire by the time it comes out (though I may by then).
  22. IIRC correctly you can have it shipped or you can DL it from the site when it comes out.
  23. We kinda have a networking class, tehy get an open hour and meet then, not enough people, so I have to learn it on my own cause of scheduling conflicts.
  24. Cause I used to play on won, when I did the only website I knew of in steam was the armory, so I would associate steam with the armory's site.
  25. Yeah I"m not changing my power supply just to get a new graphics card, cause nvidia makes em too bulky
