Yeah, I found it was really bad in CS, with little turds screwing my system over everytime. Not even a firewall really helps since they are exploiting vulerabilities in the game's connection itself.What can I say other then get Ghost, ghost your main drive, and everytime you get an infection, simply reghost. I do it almost every 2-3 months.

One of the Abrams tanks that was disabled in DS has a neat story.The T-72 was hull down and they didn't see it as they drove by. It scored a direct hit to the rear ammo compartment. Fortunately the abrams has that nice ammo ejection system. So in 1/2 second, the onboard computer turned the turret 90 degrees from the chasis facing, and ejected the ammo up and down into the sand as it exploded. Heh.... they still had one round in the breech. They turned around, took 2 more hits from the T-72 that hit the reactive armor and did nothing, drove up nice and close to make damn sure they couldn't miss, and fired the last round right into the turret, killing the T72.

Well, then what happens if a US crew takes over an abandoned Leopard II? Is that Leopard II better then an Abrams?

The problem with the Challenger II is its size. Good for tank battles against primitive HEAT ammo, very very bad against top attack missiles. The surface area of the turret is too large to repel a top attack and prevent collateral dammage tearing into all the compartments.... where as both the Abrams and the Leopard II can survive a hit on about the 1/3 rear of the turret top and safely eject the ammo while containing the explosion. Also, I know for a fact that the Challenger II can't take more then 2 hits from an APFSDS in the same area. The 1st one kills the reative armor, the second one goes right through it and out the other side. There is no armor in this world that can resist an APFSDS, it can only be partially deflected by reactive armor, and that only works once and then it's gone. Like all tanks, APFSDS is the silver bullet that will kill anything, and being bigger just means it's easier to die.Also, do you know what happens when APFSDS hits a tank? 1st off, the friction is so powerful that it burns all the paint off the entire tank in like 10 seconds (that's why tanks killed by sabot always look rusted...the paint is burned off on impact), A little hole is made on impact, a big hole goes right through the other side. Everything inside is sucked out the big hole due to the pressure shockwave. Look inside a tank killed by sabot, and all that is left of the crew is jelly, most of it ejected out the opposite side the tank was hit on.Edit: Cool APFSDS-DU stories1)In the 1st gulf war, 1 APFSDS killed 2 Iraqi T72s that were lined up. The shot went completely thorugh both tanks.2)The APFSDS has such velocity, that US/UK tanks could fire thorugh 30M sand berms and still penetrate Iraqi T-72s using infared at night3)In Bosnia, a Serb T72 was hit by APFSDS. The turret on this tank was gravity held. Since the impact was so great, the turret flew up into the air, flipped over, and landed back in place upside down. Heh, my bro has a picture of this one when he was over there doing peace keeping, it is somthing to see. I'll see if I can get him to scan it and I'll post it.

I have to disagree, the Leopard II has been retrofitted many times, the new 2001/2002 models have come a long way since the original 1979 variant. Currently, the A6 EX does have a better fire control system then the Abrams.I dunno, CDN forces often get rated to drive both Abrams and Leopard IIs. I know a few tankers who say the newest Leopard IIs egde out the abrams, especially when you go all out in rough terrain. But that's their opinion, I can't say I've driven either.

No way, the best tank in the world is the Leopard II by far. It has the best fire control, best "useability" in the field and the perfect mix of mobility, firepower and armour. http://www.army-technology.com/projects/leopard/images/leop113.jpg

Heh, and her stock dropped 3% when the verdict was released.I dunno, kinda have mixed feelings about this one. Did she do somthing bad and needs to be punished? Yeah, she did. At the same time though, I know there are people getting away with things like this on a much worse scale then her. She's an easy target, that's why I figure they zeroed in on her and not other people.

Pretty sure you can't patch the game when the NOCD crack is installed.You'd need to do a full reinstall and apply the NOCD crack after installing all the DC stuff.

Is it possible to have the crosshairs change colors in game, or is it a static thing?I would love to have the typical 5 pixel crosshair (1 pixel in the center, with 4 individual pixels around it in the corners about 6-7 pixels away) and have the center pixel rotate colors rapidly so I can always zero in on it if I break focus to look at another part of the screen temporarily.

Wait it gets better..... e-mail validation is not working yet. So those of us who got hosed on the update and had to reinstall get hosed again when it finally starts to work.

That is exactly what happened to me.... eventually I got thorugh and it started to download the platform files.... pray it doesn't disconnect you during that part.

Hmm, apparently the update wasn't complete. After trying a few dozen times to connect steam, it started downloading the plaform files. Where it promptly disconnected me and is now causing all sorts of steam related access errors everytime I launch steam or retsart windows. It really sucks when you have the platinum pack and steam fails like this.Yay for steam! GrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrI'm not in the mood to even try and fix it right now.... good thing I can't get in the steampowered.com forums... I might post somthing unpleasant.

ATI's shader implementation is superior, so it will prove more useful as more full DX9 games come out. On the other hand, Doom3 will undoubtedly run better on the Nvidia cards, and I'm sure that engine will be used for alot of upcoming games.There is no answer, both cards will do well for the next year. On the otherhand, the next generation cards aren't that far away. Especially since Nvidia is doing the typical PR blitz of 'NV40 has this and is twice as fast!" once it was learned that ATI's next card has tapered out of the chip fabs.I myself have a Radeon 8500 and am going to wait for the next gen cards, which will hopefully be out in 5-6 months.

I just keep getting "Could not connect to the steam network" which is of course a lie since I already did the update part.I'm betting the problem is that the steam servers are overloaded because of a flux of updaters.

Except it takes about 2 days to finish, and what exactly do when you own the awesome outcast heavy fighter and have it maxed with class 9 and 10 weapons.Other then that is was fun, but way to short
