  1. Well, so infecting some guys computer should be equated with murder or rape?1-5 years sounds good to me, because I bet if he did it again, they would throw the book at him. You have to understand that he is also royally hosed for the rest of his life with a criminal record. His only real hope is to go into business for himself or get a job from friends or family if he intends a high tech career. Yeah sure it is highly annoying and potenitally disastrous to be infected with a virus. But really, if someone left the front door of their house open in the middle of the night and someone trashed their furniture, you'd be thinking, yeah that sucks and people need to be punished, but what kind of mutton head leaves the front door open in the middle of the night?
  2. OK, now my thoughts.Do aliens exsist? I am sure of it.The circumstantial evidence is too high to dismiss. Are they friendly? Highly unlikely, did anyone see that space shuttle video where it looks like the US fired an energy weapon at a UFO in orbit? Really creepy. You see this oscialting light in orbit off quite a distance from the shuttle. It slows down, rapidly changes direction and flies off just as a "light stream" is emitted from earth at its position.Consdering that a High tech alien race could probably annihilate us from orbit with ease, they must be thinking of invading us if all the government stuff is so hush hush.
  3. There was that Twilight Zone show once where a UFO was approaching earth, and the US and Russia couldn't translate the message being broad cast. So they fired off a ton of cruise missiles at the ship. Of course the laser PDS took care of the missiles and the UFO annihilated Washington and Moscow in retaliation. Afterwords scientists finally translated the message with states "We come in peace blah blah blah"Of course there was also a Twilight Zone on the flipside of the coin. Aliens visit earth and demand that we remove all our nuclear arsenals or they'll have to destroy us because we are rapidly approaching space travel capability. In a panic, all the nations of the world get together and rapidly elminate their nuclear capabilities in a few months. The aliens return and say "Thanks, it will be that much easier to conquer you now"
  4. No need to insult me by calling me Metallica Boy. Let's just stick to the discussion at hand.Yeah, Metalica sucks now, I only listen to their stuff before the black album. Regardless, that doesn't mean he isn't the best guitarist. Listening to his stuff and comparing it to others is a pretty simple task I used for formualting my opinion.
  5. Do what my wife does when making RPG chars. 1)close your eyes, type some giberish2)remove vowels typed in the giberish3)now add vowels at your duscretion to create phoentically apealing sounds.
  6. I have heard Stevie Vai, and no, he is not as clean as kirk hammett is.
  7. I would love to see how well any of these so called "awesome" guitar players would do at a fast paced song. Face it, the skill required for clean string sounds when doing metal means Kirk Hammett ownz them all
  8. Depends how badly you like to drive tanks :)If you think that hopping in a tank and then driving to cap points is fun, and that is all you want to do, get DC.If you prefer to fight like a man, outsmart your enemies for higher scores and fight in places with lots of cover so you can go commando get BFV

LOL, this probably means FA 2.9 won't be released until after half-life 2
  10. No sorry, Kirk Hammett is the best guitar player, ever. That guy can mash the strings better than ANYONE alive or dead.
  11. Ooh ooh.... this might be worth the hassels of allowing steam on my system.
  12. Hey cool, I'll sign up
  13. So now we get to see the newest Nvidia and ATI cards go head to head. http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=2044 http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20040504/index.html Nvidia also launched an "Extreme" version of their latest 6800 today, I guess to try and steal some thunder from ATI's latest offerings. http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/geforce_6800_ultra_extreme/ The cards look pretty even, both ATI and Nvidia do well in certain benchmarks (though ATI creams the 6800 in far cry, and the 6800 does the same to ATI in Quake III based games). The features are pretty much the same, except the 6800 supports 3.0 pixel shaders, while ATI is stuck at 2.0. However ATI now has a neat new anti-aliasing trick that makes the card look like the anti-aliasing is higher then what it really is at. eg: If you are running 2X AA, enabling temporal anti-aliasing makes the output look like 4X AA with only the 2X AA performance penalty. Looks like you can't go wrong with any of the newest cards from ATI or Nvidia.
  14. I suppose it might be policitcal if you're an old hardliner of the USSR.
  15. Heh, it was pretty mean when TAC members on red were yelling.... "Quick, steal the helos we can use it to get over and camp their base"
  16. Probably because I am in Ottawa, and the server is in Dallas, but once the server gets 32 players or more, I lag really bad. My latency stays fine, but I get alot of intermittent "connetion problem" warnings.
  17. Well yeah, I know we can't take on other countries by ourselves. Like I said, our military is setup as support to the US during real war, and we do it very well. Also, have you noticed that our JTF2 special forces now has triple the budget it did 3 years ago? It's pretty easy to see which way Canada is moving. Heavy Armor is getting tossed, old LAV-75s are no longer a priority and will be phased out, coyotes are being retrofitted for recce/command duty, Various Stryker models are coming in, and JTF2 is growing rapidly. Looks like they have a clue afterall, as it seems that Canada will be idea for rapid deployment missions in 5 years or so.Which is good, not only for fulfilling Nato obligations, such as seen in Afghanistan, but also for UN emergency missions, of which we learned the hardway when we were unable to rapidly reinforce our early Sarajevo mission and Rawanda mission when they needed help.
  18. I'd recommend dimes if you have alot. We are accustomed to counting in base10, so you are less likely to make an accounting error starting with dimes.
  19. We could make a reality TV show out of female gamers. The twist could be one of the female gamers used to be a guy who had a sex change.
  20. I wouldn't say it if it was a lie http://www.snipercountry.com/Articles/BoltActionsSpeak.asp The reason the bombing runs are so impresive is that Canada flew 10% of the missions while making up only 2% (18/800) of the deployed Nato aircraft. In other words, each Canadian pilot flew 5 times more missions then any other nato pilot because CF18s are reliable in all weather bombing. Edit: "As soon as we got rid of one guy, another would come up, and another one." OMG, we're sniper spawn campers
  21. Yeah, alot of people with ATI cards need to run the game in safe mode
  22. Yeah ManoWar I see that in your location, though I prefer to think of Toronto as Detroit jr, and not actually a part of the rest of Canada :PBut the fact remains that Canada does have a good military that is useful in a support role for the US. Our newest naval vessels are cutting edge and almost always support US operations in the persian gulf by making up part of the pickets for US carriers. Our F-18 pilots are some of the best in the world and flew the most bombing sorties in Bosnia. Our high tech detection kits like those I've shown on the Coyote are THE BEST in the world, and are being exported to the US and other Nato allies. Canadian snipers rule as proven in Afghanistan... heh not to belittle US forces, but on occasion they request to take Canadian snipers with them when they do their more dangerous patrols in the rocky areas. You've been fed to much crap from the media, yeah the CDN forces have their problems, but that doesn't mean they don't kick butt. Wait until we get our strykers and can deploy combat armor to world hot spots. The problem right now is we've moved all our heavy armor from Europe back home, and the retorfitted Leopards are not suitable for rapid deployment, and since the Strykers are coming, we're not spending upkeep on the other armor (like the cougar) we use for UN missions because they are being phased out.Don't forget that Canada has ADATs as well, but since there are no air targets where Canada is deployed, you never hear about them, even though they also completely own light armor.

Try running it in safe mode, that is what worked for me for some silly reason.
