  1. well i just found thishttp://www.socialequality.com/public_html/prioriss/iwb9-9/light.htmstating that photons of light have reached greater speeds than light in a vacuum. also stating that objects with mass have two states, waves and particles. its also theorized that only things such as light waves can move at the speed of or possibly faster than light in a vacuum
  2. light cant escape a black hole, but only because the mass is so great and the gravity is so strong it pulls it back in. its why i thought maybe gravity could be faster than light since gravity also seems to be determined by mass.
  3. i realise your not trying to give away the answer while trying to make us come up with it. but your answers are more vague than the article i posted. how bout this onehttp://www.physlink.com/Education/AskExperts/ae457.cfmim just trying to find something. since you stated that it has been done, im trying to find out heh. i obviously dont know a great deal bout physics but it does interest me
  4. it would help if you would explain what is wrong with my statements. not details just say what is wrong instead of just saying it IS wronguntil thenfrom http://www.khouse.org/articles/technical/19980301-156.htmlBut Van Flandern shows that there are sound reasons for believing that the "speed of gravity" is not infinite. By carefully studying the observable data, Van Flandern now concludes that the speed of gravity is greater than or equal to the present speed of light by a factor of 2 x 1010.
  5. Your first statement is not true. Objects with no static mass CANNOT go FASTER than speed of light itself. Objects with no mass are photons.Yes, speed o of light is greates it vacuum and in non-vacuum space, it is slower. But this doesnt matter in relation to my question.it partially does relate to ur question. u ask what can be faster than the speed of light? well the speed of light is not a constant. u have to define it as such before the question can actually be answered. i know its symantecs, but im trying to narrow down the field a bit. the fact that light speed is variable states that light can be faster than itself when travelling through different substances.
  6. there are many things that can be defined by speed in our reality. i'd have to do some research to find some answers, but im just to tired now heh. in order to go faster than the speed of light it seems that the object would have no mass at all to begin with. however if you are looking for everyday examples the object would seem to have mass. its unlikely anything people see/deal with every day has no mass. i never took any theoretical or advanced physics classes beyond the basics required to graduate so this is a mind twister hehe.a few silly questions. i once read where photons of light were actually slowed down from the normal speed. depending on the substance they travelled threw, so the speed of light is actually a variable making it slightly harder to answer the question. do you mean the standard everyday speed of light through the vacuum of space?
  7. can't pick just one or two songs. bands maybe. pretty much anything by led zep, pink floyd and most other older bands. and most heavy metal. disturbed, saliva, soad, mushuga, down, etc...

i used to go around as Space Cowboy, a tribute to Steve Miller. but i got tired of it and picked up a name from the scifi show Babylon 5. most people seem to pronounce it wrong though, i've heard it a hundred different ways heh.anyway, the name comes from the 2nd vorlon ambassador, in case anyone's ever seen B5. it was his original name, though it was never mentioned in the series.

  16. several iraqi troops already surrendered a couple of days ago. the brits were doing firing runs and apparently the iraqis thought the war had started, they crawled across the border and surrendered to the brits. they were told to go back because the war hadnt started yet heh.i think the majority of iraq's forces will give up at the first chance, however sadams (i can never spell his name right) personal guards will probly fight
