i'm getting "rainbow" textures on my walls in half life, and I "might" have also a noticed the same problem in far cry, but if i did it wasn't this bad. . . the only thing i've done is a console command for high detail textures because some maps support it, will this add these "rainbow" textures to maps that don't support it. ok, but i can't find my half like cd or cd-key at the moment, so i'm gonna wait a little bit to re-format

i'm going to re-format my hard-drive, how should I go about doing this???should i just install windows xp over the version i currently have, or is there something else I should do?i'm backing up all of my important files to my blank dvd's so I won't worry about losing anything important

can cards just go bad like that??? my card is only 2 months older than yours, and I think I got more use out of it. I play on my computer a lot, and I rarely even shut it off. If this is the case, I still have a 3 year warranty for my card so I will just get it repaired, or they'll send me a new one or something. Is it possible that I just overused it and that there is nothing I can do?
