  1. From looking at GameSpot's video review, it seems it's just BF with a Star Wars theme. That's not enough for me to purchase it, I think, since I already have BF. If they had light sabers...then it would offer something that BF didn't, unless they used it like a knife. *yik*
  2. Here is the definition of a clan as stated by one of the many online dictionaries:'In computer gaming, a clan is a group of players who regularly play together at a particular multiplayer game, generally as a team. Clans also act as social groups, with players often meeting up both on and offline.'I have been following TAC since ClaymoreCarl has been my roommate, and have even thought of trying to join, myself, at times. Even though I'm more of an MMORPG player in my gameplay, the guilds/clans I've been in have had the same issues lately. Through having discussions, reading forums, and playing on TAC servers, I have come to a conclusion. It is my opinion that TAC has evolved from a Firearms clan to a gaming community. The difference between the gaming community and clan has to do with one small phrase: 'at a particular multiplayer game'. TAC has allowed the inclusion of more than one multiplayer game, breaking the definition of a clan and now becoming a gaming community. If the ultimate goal of TAC is to be a strong clan, then force clan members to play FA; however, if TAC does not want this, then games should not be dictated by any authority.Selecting and excluding games is not going to accommodate the lack of camaraderie, teamwork, and friendship. If people pay $50 for a game, they're going to play it. True, most have their favorites and that is fine; as a community, the goal is to find people who share common favorites and there you will have the camaraderie and teamwork. To constrain to a select few games will only push those people you want back away faster.I can understand the desire to have people play on a server you pay money for, and I don't discount that. The Armory is well known for their presence in Firearms, and with so many of your clan members still playing it, I agree that having TAC servers for Firearms is the right thing to do. I would suggest possibly not purchasing other servers, however, until you are sure you have a basis to justify the buy. If you notice a lot of people are in a Ventrilo channel daily playing a game (even after it's 'the flavor of the month'), that would allow me to believe that a server might be in order. If you had to discontinue the BFV server because people weren't playing on it consistently, then it seems like a waste to pay for one in the future. There are many times I have glanced over from pulling mobs all day to see no one in your BFV channel on Ventrilo, and the short amount of times I've gotten on to play BFV, TAC's server didn't show up because it was empty. I just think money could be better saved for BF2 if that is where TAC is heading. The issues should not be "What games are TAC going to adopt in the future" and instead "How many kills can I get today" or "How can I be a better dogfighter". Because ultimately the games should be dictated by those who pay for them, and not a select few, unless you are a clan, in which case you have already narrowed down to one game and basically said "if you don't like it, don't be in the clan". By saying <insert game here> is not played by TAC is excluding existing members--in a way you are forcing a choice on the member. It's common logic that: 1. I bought a game. 2. I want to play the game. 3. TAC doesn't allow that game. 4. I leave TAC to play my game. I doubt there would be many that would buy a game and because their clan did not support it, they did not play it. Instead they would either not get on to play with the clan at all to play their new game, or leave the clan if they really wanted to exclusively play that game. I really doubt that is the goal of TAC.I hope everything turns out ok for TAC, and the short amount of gameplay I've had with them has been great. If your goal is to become a FA/BF2 clan, then you are on the right track; I understand that FA is appealing since it functions on older hardware well, and BF2 is for those in the clan who do not want to play FA and have the computer power to do so. If this is the case, then I would suggest not even considering adopting any other games than these two. All I can say is good luck and hope for the best.
