  1. K, well I still cant get this game to run for longer then 10 minutes without freezing. I have tried everything my non-computer oriented mind could think of. I recently reformatted, I updated my mobo, sound card and video card with nvidias latest drivers. I have updated punkbuster and dl the tool so that pb will automatically update. (In game I pulled down the console and saw that pb violations = 0. Should be no problem there.) I have turn off anti-virus and background tasks. I turned off filtering and shading, put effects and graphics on low. I changed the connection speed to 256k or >. I turned my sound accelleration to basic/off (both) and disabled the VoIP. I even contacted ea and talked with a tech support guy. Course he didnt want to wait 10 minutes for the game to lock up, so when I was talking with him he said everything was running well. His advice was to check that all my ports were open. So I did. I contacted my provider and sure nuff, The ports for Battlefield 2 are as follows: UDP ports: * 27900 * 29900 * 29910 * 27901 * 55123 * 55124 * 55215 * 16567 * 1500-4999 TCP ports: * 80 * 29900 * 29901 * 29920 * 28910 * 4711 were open. There's a surprise. The damn game still locks up after 10 minutes of multiplayer. Any ideas at all? I can post more info bout this cuz i tinkered for weeks it seems now. -e- Once, when I hit ctl + alt + del, my task manager appeared and I saw that bf2 was using something like 534,000k of memory. My cpu usage was a 10 % or so.
  2. how do u find the fps in bf2?

  8. grammer xxxx shhh they're comming edited by Paladin--- i know you didn't mean anything by it but i dont like that word
  9. "I used to get the same error in BFV with my old computer. The problem was my video card, sound card, and onboard ethernet card were all running offf the same IRQ, and the data was colliding. I bet if you check you'll see the same thing," bf2 forums. How do I check if this is the issue?
  10. Gotta be the net dood. I just played singleplayer for an hour or so. No issues soon as I connect to multiplayer, BAM! lockup. I will do. Is punkbuster like cheating death or something? -e- here goes nothing :o -e- well, It worked for longer then it has in a very long time. I was able to run it for 30 minutes or so. Joined midway through a round was able to finish the round then join the next round for bout 10 minutes or so. Then el locko. I'll keep searching for some answers. -e- Been searching the bf2 planet forums. It seems that its punk buster. I tried the fix 2x, but the game still crashes. I am bout to play in a non-pb server and see how it goes. -e- no punk buster servers are up ... go figure. I'm 90% sure pb is the culprit. :o
  11. sure man keep trying. i havent tried single player in a while, just multiplayer. The game runs for 10minutes usually without any problems, then, out of nowhere, the game locks up and freezes. I can see the entire environment I just cant move or anything. There is sound (looping) but I cant alt + tab or cntl + alt + del. I have to turn off my computer in the back and restart it that way. Could it be internet connection? I run teh net on a crappy linksys router connected directly to my cpu. I suppose I could try takin off the router and running the game directly from my dsl modem. /me cries.
  12. ty torch for all your help. I did as you said, then also dl'd the 1.02 hotfix for bf2. game ran for oh 10 minutes then locked up again. Upon restart I started up my started my nvidia monitor view to check if my cpu was getting too hot while playing bf2. ( cant think of anything else ) cpu 27 c system 37 c gpu 46 c check the sound button for overtemp alert and joined a bf2 1.02 server. locked up right after I chose my class and was looking for a squad to join. I never heard an overtemp alert. I dont get it. I appreciate your help, but wth dood. bf2 is the busted for me. I was tinkering with the nvidia nv mixer option on the new drivers and got this. I dont like computers and I'm far too old and too stupid to figure out this totally.. http://img327.imageshack.us/img327/1/w00t3ba.jpg
  13. here's the dxdiag http://xthost.info/xoloanxinxo/bf2/DxDiag.rar -e- I ran all the audio tests and I heard sound at each. Same with the video tests, I was able to see each of the objects for each test.

  16. I have tried the nvidia drivers on the nvidia site and the drivers on th disk to no avial. This is a custom build with the sound card built into the mobo. windows xp svc pack 2 amd I will try what you suggested when I get home and post it here. Thanks again for the support guys. <3 the armory.
  17. primes a cap *****
  18. well I uninstalled again then reinstalled making sure there was no bf2 after the uninstall after the reinstall I disabled the viop and the other audio option. left all the settings default, changed my map to follow player and changed the connection speed to 256 or > The game runs fine for 10 - 15 minutes with no lag or anything then locks up. This is NOT a patched version. eeeeppspspepepepepe :X connections issues? -e- firewall/anti-virus/background tasks = off
  19. Also, the single player is fine. Runs perfectly, but online is jacked. ?
  20. i bought it at best buy
  21. i updated all the drivers afik, i may have not updatd the mobo. All the other drivers were up to date with teh exception of my video driver. I updated it and the restarted my computer. When I started up in multiplayer I got a prompt saying I need to updated the latest nvidia drivers. WTF? lol. I will try uninstalling everything and deleting all the folders (had not done that) I really think its my audio too, because it was not working at all what so ever when i used the voip in the audio options. When that was turned off the game ran for a week or so with out problems. kad ... didnt know taht was why there was a geen tint on my famas D:! Thanks for the help, as soon as I get home I'm going to attempt to fix this. <3 bf2 just cant play it :\
