Steam does not suck. It's a good idea that's been poorly implemented, that's all.

Use winamp, it uses much less ram from what i've been told/seen myself. It runs alot faster and better in the background. Playlists!!!

Actually, Valve is slowly phasing out the WON system, which is why Steam will be required. 2.8 Will be for steam.

Uh, yes it is the RIAA that's doing that. Them and their affiliates are modding the music files so-to speak in an effort to reduce downloads. It's annoying but it's what they do. From what I know it only affects KaZaA (lite) and Morpheus 'cause they're the most popular programs.
