is it possible to get autoban installed on the armory? i'd like some public testing of it. you could disable the banning feature and i could monitor the scores people are getting while i play, to check and see how accurate it is. it gives insane amounts of points for wallhacking now, and the author claims it has wallhack/noflash hacks completely disabled in version 0.4 i'll give whoever installs it on the armory a hug. two if requested.

http://www.mani-admin-plugin.com/forums/portal.php the mani plugin has the ability to 'ping' clients for cheat cvars. basically it sends out a known cheating cvar (hlh_norecoil, for example) and if the client reads it as an error, obviously they don't have that hack/cheating function installed. if the client runs it, they're cheating. it can autoban if it detects these. http://www.wravens-nest.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=1 autoban, while in an extremely unreliable beta state, will be an effective anti-cheat. it doesn't detect for cheats, it detects the result of cheats. it has algorithms to check for wallhacks, aimbots, pre-aims, speedhacks and many other things. for instance, it might take a snapshot of the server and see guy A hiding behind a box. guy B shoots directly at the guy's head through the box.. the plugin detects a wallhack because guy B couldn't have possibly (aurally or visually) known guy A was hiding there. when version .4x comes out i have high hopes that it will be in a workable state, as i have been sending the author data myself to ensure that it doesn't produce false positives. until v.4x is released and tested it should be used as a guide for admins, do NOT set this to actually autoban. http://www.steambans.com/ steambans is a 3rd-party site with vac-like plugins. basically they accept demos of cheaters, add the cheaters to a database, and any server with the plugin installed will deny cheaters on the steambans list. the source version for linux is still in the works if you guys run a linux box. -------------------------------------------- all those together with VAC2 should ensure a very cheat-free server.

i've been working with texturing/photo manipulation stuff for a while, and photoshop is definately the better choice in the long run. personally though, i use the GIMP. it's open-source, and works very well. it's a tad more confusing than photoshop at first but i've come to like it better. http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html
