Just curious if anyone else is having issues with the game other than myself?

1 - I'm having issues connecting as most of my attempts to connect "time out".

2 - After playing about 15 minutes the computer will completely freeze and I'll have to manually reset.

3 - Game playing doesn't feel smooth like 2142.

Maybe it is just me, but seriously these issues are pissing me off. I think there's some driver and server issues.

EDIT: RESOLVED

1 - Master server timeout is the cause to connection issues which COD will have to fix and I beleive it is regional.

2,3 - Graphical issues were due to forcing graphics settings via NVIDIA control panel, so let COD determine the graphics settings.

oh oh don't sound good.I haven't even gotten to play yet but some here have hopefully some light can be shed on this.

I had the same problem with connnecting, hopefully there will be a patch in the next week or so to fix that.

I enjoyed the game play. Just really fast. Hard to see sometime who is shooting me. I am sure i will get used to it though.

The first thing is a known issue, I hope they are working on resolving the problems. You just need to keep trying until you get into server. 2 & 3 don't apply to me, games running great.

2. Sounds like an overheating issue..

3. sounds like you never played BF2142.... lol, this game is silky smooth for me.

yes, i get number 1 also. sounds like it's being worked on.

i have not had a problem with number 2 and i don't think anyone else that i was playing with (about 10-15 people) had it either so it may be your end. you can even alt-tab in and out of game without a problem!

i experienced some lag in the first server i had but other than that, it's been pretty smooth for me. are you talking about movement and stuff? it's definitely different than BF2142. some things that i'm getting used to. you can't reload and sprint. you can't just go prone anywhere. the freaking minimap is at the top left so i keep forgetting to look at it. a few other things.

No, it is not a hardware issue. I has to be something to do with the COD graphics content and the Nvidia driver - which I often set to over ride games. I think I'll just let the game set the AA and AF.

I haven't had any problems with COD4 under Vista, no disconnections and the game runs super smooth, I do have 4gb of ram and that makes a huge difference with newer games.

Have you tweaked your system at all JPenn? When things get choppy take a look at your hard drive light, if it's blinking a lot thats causing the lag. I've found disabling file indexing helps a ton with this problem.

Open My Computer, right click on your C:, select properties, then uncheck "Index this drive for faster searching", if you get any errors select "Ignore All". Do this for all the partitions on your system.

Also, disabling unneeded services helps as well. Check out this link:

Make sure you export your service list to a text file before you touch anything, that way you can go back to the original settings if things start running weird, it took me awhile to figure out what I could disable and what I couldn't. To export the service list goto Control Panel>Admin Tools>double click on services, click on the Action menu and click "Export to file"

Tweaking helps a ton with gaming, it takes a bit of trial and error to get things running the way you want but it's worth it in the long run.

I had the connection (time-out) issues, but other than that it was freakin' awesome.

Very fast paced and caotic, but neat. Try the single player mode for practice. :)

I hate how the rounds are so short. It usually takes me a few mins to get in the groove after a map change, with the short rounds I don't have time to get my focus.

It is absolutely crazy, that one super small map with all the crates is nuts, it sucks if you're on a bad team because it can be spawn kill central.

I'm getting this error "iw3mp.exe has stopped working". People are having this problem but there doesn't seem to be a working solution yet.

btw I have a E6300, vista 64bit, sigmatel high def audio. Single player works fine but the Multiplayer keeps crashing.

reinstall the game probably will fix it
I haven't had any game crashes and it runs very well on my system; however, I do have problems connecting. I am terrible at the game currently, but I'm trying to get used to it.

Shuttering, I'm reading, has to do with driver issues and such. Glad some of you having a better experience though.

Run vista in 32bit mode , and/or reinstall XP, no offence, Vista blows for games. :)

I was having shuddering problems toooo

I D/L the new drivers and turned off Indexing

this totally solved my problems :)

This game runs smooth everything maxed out on my end. The only time i get lag is server lag when someone calls in airstrike after airstike.
