i love people who make systems like this.. they base their prices on the knowledge that someone somewhere has no knowhow to put their own PC together.. can make twice this PC, for half the price if you DIY.

I totally agree....thought it was kinda funny that's why I posted it....lol

Guys, a little harsh. Let me just explain briefly that it's not that "someone, somewhere" doesn't know how to build their own computer, it's that "the vast majority of people, everywhere" don't know how. Our customer base is full of hardware enthusiasts and gamers, just like yourselves, but they are people who can't or don't want to build some or all of their computers. Especially when they are going to be spending so much money, and getting into things like water cooling -- some people need the support. That's what we provide. We're business-minded, support-minded enthusiasts, just like yourselves.

As far as the price, let me just tell you that it's expensive to do the background work in developing a computer system that has the least amount of problems (thus providing the best experience for our customers). Plus, we often are supporting the machines for up to 3 years. The higher-end the computer, the more expensive that becomes by leaps and bounds. So believe me, when you have a good product like we do, we base our prices on our support costs and what we need to do to provide the best product. People who want that type of product and service know it's worth it.

I hope you guys liked the system other than that, though. It's pretty freaking awesome, IMO - SSD, 780i, tripleSLI, custom watercooled, overclocked, 45nm Intel... I mean, you guys all have rigs like this? It's sweet! I don't have one either, it's OK to admit it's awesome though. What really matters is whether you suck or not when you're gaming with it.

Have a good one! I'll try to stop back to see how bad you guys felt like flaming me.

wow you made a account just for this-lol

Well i just looked and i think there nice rigs, but way too much.

Take the http://www.pugetsystems.com/certified_sys.php?sys_id=91

for example ok the mother board is a step up from mine and the video card is a step up from what i have as well plus add 2 more so that there is a extra $1000 than mine would be plus you add the cooling system and one could easily say this rig is a lot better then mine.however you add in the slightly better processor and all together it's maybe if i bought it peice work, less then 2000$ more than my PC i paid $2400 for the whole works for my PC,which aside from what i said above has alot of the same things. so add another 2 grand on it and less then $5000 no prob.plus you don't even include a sound card. but your charging over $8000.So your saying that the extra over $3000 is for service for the next 3 years.

Like i said nice rigs but way to much.but i'm however am not flaming you at all.Just making mere comments

Bro. You have one Ultra and this has three? The cards and the waterblocks on them alone are $800. That's my COST dude.

I mean, I am not going to argue that our computers cost more than the sum of their parts in retail. That's obvious and necessary. But if you actually did apples to apples with what you have and the ACTUAL cost (not your estimate  ), we'd be much closer to getting to reality.

However, I do want to say that sometimes $3K is not even enough profit. Like I said before, you spend the money with us and you get what you pay for. Some people need that level of service, especially with a watercooled monstrosity like this.

IMO, if I'm paying 8k for a computer, it could at least have a sound card. ?.?

I think those are pretty sweet computers. The prices seem high, but most of us here build our own stuff, and don't take into account how much time we put into them, and what that time is worth.

If I calculated my hourly wage at work, it would really cost me more than 8k to build the same setup.

If I didn't enjoy building custom machines so much, I'd probably look into this more.

hey i'm not dissing ,you gotta make a living.IMO there nice enough rigs and if i had money but no time to learn how to build my own ,i'd buy something overpriced that i knew would work well and with out many problems and the fact you do offer support for 3 years is a plus cuz in 3 years one would more then likey be adding or rebuilding anyways. So ya i can totally see why someone would go this way.

I'm not sure how it came up that there wasn't a sound card, but we put the Asus Xonar D2X in these. They are like $200. Sound card is up to you. You just have to pick it as an option.

I don't have a sound card in my gaming machine. Personally, I like to keep things simple with a small rig, and the only add-on I have in there is a killernic and it's in a microATX form factor. Easy to carry around and less things to bother me with. I don't really need a sound card to use headphones, which is what I game with.

And I'm just sayin' that if I'm already paying 8000 USD for a computer, that Asus Xonar D2X should already be in and I shouldn't have to pay more for it.

Merely my opinion.

Some people don't want sounds cards...

Same deal with alot of things, like peripherals, most modding options, and most add-on cards in general.

That's the point of a custom computer.

And if they don't want a sound card, they can easily remove it as an option and save some 200 dollars. All I'm saying is that for the current price, a sound card should already be with the system.
you know honestly after really looking at that $8000 rig,as it appears in the link. It's really a sweet computer.you got the raptor with 10000 rpm and the 500g for all your music and movies(same HD set up i have btw) dvd rewritable a 3.0 quadcore processor which is now that i think about alot more than a bit better than mine.Plus you throw in the new780i motherboard load it up with 3sli 8800 ultras and the liquid cooling damn that would be a sweet set up.But if i were to go the distance on that kinda thing i'd prolley want it to last a few years with out having to add to it.so I just wonder why it wouldn't come with vista and 2 more 1gig memory sticks(making it 4).that would be the tops for me.You wouldn't need to change a thing on it for like 5 years and still play your games at high to med settings for sure.
If they buildin a custom PC and dont want a soundcard.. man...

you guys are nit picking that they didnt add the sound card for the default setup

its not like they dont offer one

its just a starting place (at 8k$)

hell the lotus elise starts at 44k and doesn't come with carpet

Oh geez - see you have to be a little more specific  That processor is a grand or more in retail. Plus, we overclock it to 4GHZ.

4GB is an option, certainly. The link you are all looking at what you originally saved the config at. I wouldn't get 2GB either.
