May 26, 200817 yr I have been busy repairing the fairings on my buell this past month. I don't have any finished pics up yet, but you can see what I have done with the scratches. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/zathos1377/The%20Other%20Bike/CIMG2484.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/zathos1377/The%20Other%20Bike/CIMG2486.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/zathos1377/The%20Other%20Bike/CIMG2487.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/zathos1377/The%20Other%20Bike/CIMG2488.jpg after the sanding..... http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/zathos1377/The%20Other%20Bike/CIMG2490.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/zathos1377/The%20Other%20Bike/CIMG2491.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/zathos1377/The%20Other%20Bike/CIMG2492.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/zathos1377/The%20Other%20Bike/CIMG2493.jpg I will try to get some pics up of what it looks like now. They look better then what they do from the factory. I was pretty happy with how it turned out.
May 26, 200817 yr ive some old school tricks that will make that thing stick out like a sore thumb, the best looking pieces need to be sanded down with wet 220, then 240, then prime then under coat with silver or gold metal flake, then a light 300 wet then the color you want to put on it maybe three light coats then clear twice it takes some time but it will be show quality. :D:peace:
May 26, 200817 yr Author naw...I just took 400 to the heavier scratches. Then went to 600---800---1500---2000. I have them all buffed out to a close mirror like finish. My buddy and I have probably 40+ hrs. between the both of us. In the end though, it saved me $750-$1000, doing it myself.
