I was just wondering what you guys thought the best assault weapon isThis is pretty opioniated but I usually use the m60 or I am a sniper..every now and then a mortar'er. Thought I might try being assault instead of a wussy artillary/mg-er

For CQA, any SMG or shotgun will be perfect.FA-MAS is good, too, because of the high ROF, good accuracy and the very awesome range.

Well, then if you WANT to learn, the shotgun is probably the BEST one to learn with.I was using the AK74(which is horrible in CQB's) for a long time and then I switched to the M3/beretta92fs set up about a month ago already (time flies :shock: ) and I was HORRIBLE.However, over time, I got more and more accurate with the one shot to the head kills. (Plus, it's so rewarding to see nothing bout red cover your view after a success full shot to the face. )Anyways... I used to be like 5 and 15 with the shotgun, but now I'm about even over all with it. Check the psychostats.

I have tried using the auto shotgun a few times, But it always seams the enemy is far away making my gun useless. I am farelly new to FA. :-L

I only started using the shotty on ps_sandblast about a week ago...found it was awesome upclose and decided to use it a bit more

Well, basically put, the auto is one shell weaker than the M3, meaning, it's going to take one more shot than the M3 to kill someone, unless you shot them in the face with no helmet on. Plus, if you're victim has full armor on(I believe it doesn't matter what thickness) you're gonna do 5hp of damage, at most, if you're anywhere but right next to him/her. Even right next to him, you'll need at least 2 shots with the M3 and 3 with the auto.

Um... the topic is "Best Assault Weapon"... not just rifles... are you missing something? Whatever...The knife is probably a good and fun option as well, but only if you have stealth, because there is no way you'll be making an sort of successfull charge at anything but a wall with a knife.

I might try mp5/shotgun sometime today see how I do. Hopefully I don't get killed too much o.O Also on some weapons with stealth they have a surpressor for them..does that have any advantage besides being quieter?

sneaking up in FA is hard since they're always moving aroundunless of course you're sneaking up on a sniper!

IRL, it hurts the performance of the gun, but in FA, all it does is make it quiet. So to answer your question: Negative.
