Well, I don't count as I can read and speak (some) ancient greek! However I do know a little (very little) German and still working on native tongue...English!
Well I speak English, Spanish, German, and Latin. But since you can't count Latin I speak 3.Why can't you count Latin just because its a dead language?Almost all english words are from Latin and Spanish? So wpuld that make Latin a pretty big language. So what if it thousands of years old.
I speak 4 everydays (italian, french, english & some japenese words) cos Kendo, Iaïdo and Jodo have international Martial arts praticers. And the other that i forget cos rarely in use but only typed...In chronical learned : italian<--- At home. And french<--- At elementary school. And dutch (Neerderland), english, latin (old Roma language)<--- All on high schoolAnd deutsch (Germany), spanish, russian, greek, arabian and japenese is the last.<--- By books & cd-roms.If you speak only 2 languages, also not completely, you are a very smart person cos you wonder how other peoples think. For SnOwCr4sH, Latin is speaked much time before Jesus Christ : we are in 2003 = most than 2500 years old not 1000... :D And yes, same as you typed, italian, spanish & french come from Latin. But the english come from french who a french king who exiled in Great Britain.Egidio.
