April 20, 201015 yr Just in from EA's Battlefield Blog Give your soldier some style with the Kit Upgrade DLC On Wednesday 21st April Xbox 360 players can change how their soldiers look on the Battlefield with the Kit Upgrade DLC. http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/resized-image.ashx/__size/550x0/__key/CommunityServer.Blogs.Components.WeblogFiles/battlefield_5F00_bad_5F00_company/KitUp_5F00_Squad.png Want some details on what the DLC includes? Of course you do: There are 4 kits, one for each class, specific unique uniforms and camouflaged weapons gives you a visual edge. I mean what good is a camouflaged soldier if the gun sticks out like a sore thumb? Recruited strictly from other high-level Special Operations units such as Delta Force and Spetsnaz, the Special Activities groups – SPECACT - are the elite of the elite, used mainly for covert operations and other high-risk missions in areas where conventional troops cannot be used. With the 4 kit specific unique uniforms and the camouflaged SPECACT personal M16A2, UMP-45, MG3 and M95 SNIPER you have a visual edge on the Battlefield, showing that you’re a force to be reckoned with. The pack also includes 12 new awards and 4 Achievements. In North America the kit upgrades are only available on Xbox 360 using the Dr Pepper codes printed on special promotional cans. In Europe and the UK you can get hold of the kit upgrades for: Xbox Live Marketplace 160 MS points per kit upgrade 440 MS points for bundle pack (all kits) The kit upgrades will also be coming to PS3 and PC a little later on, we’ll post the exact release dates here as soon as we can. http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/aggbug.aspx?PostID=17172 More...
April 20, 201015 yr Milk more money from Xbox subscribers developing skins while leaving us PC players out in the dust with a broken game and broken patches, way to go EA. At least we know their priorities when BF3 comes out. Probably better pick up the Xbox 5000 or the PS4.
April 20, 201015 yr These damn console systems are going to be the death of computer online gaming. Why cause the almighty dollar rules all. I have to admit though if i was in EA's situation i would be doing the same thing. They are in business to make money and this is the easiest way to do it. When BF3 comes out it won't be PC exclusive like BF2 was.
April 20, 201015 yr Developers are lazy creatures. The migrate to easiest dollar they can get, but that is how most businesses work. It wouldn't make any sense to make a game PC exclusive anymore. Too much money in consoles. Well, at least the computer is supreme in the RTS department.
April 20, 201015 yr Just wanted to point out that according to the official post (even shown here) at the very bottom it said that these kits will come to PC too "The kit upgrades will also be coming to PS3 and PC a little later on, we’ll post the exact release dates here as soon as we can." So I don't really understand all the fuss about it being Console only? Just saying
April 20, 201015 yr Well, I think there is fuss about the obvious priority given to consoles. I mean, at least they did a better job than Infinity Ward......
April 20, 201015 yr Ok I can see that, but at least it will be available on PC at some point and that's what really maters right? Question also would be is it going to be free or not
April 20, 201015 yr It's not going to be free. It's gonna cost roughly $5.50. Baza on the EA UK forums posted that it will definately not be free.
April 20, 201015 yr It is practically criminal they release a game in this state and then have the balls to release and sell updates for consoles. Like Luker said, it is just obvious the priorities lie with the consoles. EA should fix all bugs before releasing "Pay For" game updates. We are all just suckers and EA knows it. I just wish EA would go out and say it.
April 20, 201015 yr well as it is basicly just cosmetic or ego based products it does not matter to me
