February 21, 201312 yr I just finished another colorization of an old black and white photo. I got the photo from the Library of Congress (link here) Before (after below)
February 21, 201312 yr I think you used too much blue on the uniforms. And the lighting seems a bit off, but other then that good job. And I found an interesting video that might be useful for you Gator.
February 21, 201312 yr Author Thanks Slash, RBevan, and rebel for your comments. I made some corrections to the picture by enhancing the faces, ground, uniform luminance, and overall tonal look. I think it looks better now. If you notice that the whiteness on the right side of the image ...it's actually smoke. If you look between the first two officers, behind them, you will see a stainless steel cooking pot which is apparently over a smoking fire.
February 21, 201312 yr Much better Gator, The faces look very good. The only problem I still have now is how clean the boots and pants are. They seem fake or photoshopped into the photo.
February 22, 201312 yr Author Ok, I added some mud on the boots, and made them more black looking. I also slashed some mud on the uniforms where it was present (you can actually see where the mud was slung when you zoon in)'
February 22, 201312 yr last pic look s great! I was thinking same here the first pics looked a little too clean given the conditions and the times. Last pic looks good though!
February 24, 201312 yr I really like this one Gator. How was it coloring up those trees and the getting the hazy tent colors just right? Keep em coming.
