Hi guys, I am back in Romania alive and well, trying to build myself a new PC. I am looking for parts everywhere and it looks very difficult to find parts in Europe.

However the dilemma that I am in right now is which headphones I should buy, analog or digital ?

I tend to go with analog so that I can plug them in my sound card and enjoy the good sounds.

But what I read is that digital headphones are better because they have their own sound card built in.

I am confused. Help me decide.

I prefer the digital as well. I love my Logitech G933 7.1 surround sound.

If I was listen to music or just watching movies, I might say otherwise.

But for gaming, I like the USB digital connection

Get a hifi analog headset like the audio technica series and pair it with a virtualsurround soundcard. You can virtually adjust surround positions with the right software. Soundblaster cards also have a recon mode.

I use a soundblaster zxr and an audio technica ad700x. Very good setup.

Dan, I have very little to offer on this as my system uses onboard sound and my hearing isn't the best anyway - think I must have fired too many .50 cal rounds. The only way I know if someone is creeping up on me is if they type it in chat  .

That said, from the comments above, it seems everyone has their own personal preference, and they all offer good performance. If you liked the setup you had previously, stay with that. I know on Pearl Market, if I was defending C flag with you, you would say "someone is coming" and 10 seconds later a guy pops around the corner. Hence, stay with what you know - it worked for you! Either that, or get a wall hack so you can see 'em coming  .
