January 21, 20196 yr That is just crazy, and explains how I am getting shot while hiding in the tall grass, although I am sure there are some ESP hacks as well.
January 21, 20196 yr I get why they are banning folks but like Jack said you can technically do this by tweaking your driver ini files and using the settings panel. Is it shitty to do? Yeah. Not entirely sure it should result in a perma-ban though. That's a tad harsh IMHO.
January 21, 20196 yr Author I think they were using reshade or something To me, cheap tricks and hacks ruin the over all gaming experience for everyone. Players that do this should get a ban. Not 3 days but banned permanently. This is the problem currently with cheating. There are hardly any consequences for being caught. Players getting caught helps to detour other players from doing this. It use too be that less than 1% of any game player base would cheat. Now EA, Activision and Ubisoft have over 25% cheaters in there games. Why? Because it is easy to do, lack of effort by publishers to catch them and no consequences if they do get caught. Welcome to the better player experience Edited January 21, 20196 yr by Axlerod
January 21, 20196 yr This sort of trick bothers me mostly because it takes out the concept of soft cover from games entirely. We've come a long way in games and soft cover/camouflage has a place in newer shooters. Crawling around in ghillie suits on Ghost Recon made covering grassy environments doable as opposed to having to have urban environments with hard cover everywhere. If you can just turn off all of the visual obstructions you don't like, it ruins the game for everyone else who is playing by the standard rules of the game. This is cheating. You are using an unfair advantage. I realize people can argue things like Reshade all day, and I get it, if you're just tweaking the game to make the colors look a bit better, it may not be cheating. If you're radically changing the graphical settings to specifically make targets visible in a way the game would NEVER allow... you're a cheater. If you want to run these graphical tweaks in single player or PVE co-op, I don't care. You're not diminishing my experience. If you run it in PVP, you're cheating and deserve whatever the game maker throws at you.
January 22, 20196 yr I would say that taking it to this level is an unfair advantage but using reshade shouldn't be. Hell I've used reshade and if that's what the program hes talking about is. Reshade is the only thing that made BF1 playable when looking out of windows after they screwed up the lighting. If and that's is a big if this is what they are banning folks based off of I wont use it in BFV however its very likely to end in me just uninstalling the game since their art folks cant seem to use a decent color palliate. When I start getting headaches then its time to put it down. I doubt you can do this with reshade though Ive looked at all of the profiles and havent seen anything that would simply remove items from the game world view. It, again as I've seen, only changes color palliates and lighting.
January 22, 20196 yr Reshade is nice, but it's been known to 'enhance' vision. It's ok, I use one of the oldest hacks in the book. I tape a crosshair to my computer monitor screen DICE will never catch that one
January 22, 20196 yr Author LOL They have monitors out now with dots and cross-hairs already built into them now. They have for a few years now.
January 22, 20196 yr Reshade is like wearing sunglasses for an Olympic sport. I think we all agree that it should be allowed on the basis of protecting your eyes and helping you beat the glare. When might it be too much though? With augmented reality we could see a future where some athletes can get biometric feedback data through their glasses, optimal plotted routes, information about their opponent's pace/stats, etc. I think that is where reshade is at right now. We all can see some benefits but we also see the reality where it provides illicit information. Because we have absolutely no idea if someone is using it for altruistic purposes or not, it is going to be (and has been) banned in PvP environments.
January 23, 20196 yr You know, if JackFrags would have kept his mouth shut.......... I would have gotten away with it? SERIOUSLY, if he would have not said anything about it then it might not have been as bad as it is, coming from someone with almost 3 MILLION subs, just makes it worse. I have a 1070GTX and even with all of the game settings turned down to LOW, there is a ton of Stuff still there. I thought I recall (or maybe I am Nuts) reading a few years back that there was a game( and not 100% sure what one it was) that it was able to sense your settings and that that by doing this, you were not able to play on those servers. I think that it would be great to be able to do that
January 23, 20196 yr Author They were using this in ghost recon last year. Not many played that game so no one cared. It gets used in bfv, now it's time to send in the hounds. I've talk to some people and dice is working on it but they don't seem to know what to do about it. I ended the conversation with, too bad we just don't have admin controlled servers and procon tools.

Was going to get one of the monitors that puts on on electronically but damn they are expensive
January 24, 20196 yr Author 'Battlefield V' Players Are Using Shitty Graphics for a Competitive Edge MOTHERBOARD.VICE.COM Forcing a competitive video game to render shitty graphics is cheating, and ‘Battlefield V’ is banning players for doing it. There is some more info on this. Pretty much it works for any game. Edited January 24, 20196 yr by Axlerod
