March 16, 20197 yr When Google Fiber Abandons Your City as a Failed Experiment GIZMODO.COM There’s a glob of stringy, black rubber spilling out of the street at the corner of Speed and Fernwood in Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood. A block away on Rosedale, the same spongy substance that covers most of Google Fiber’s buried lines in the city snakes in and out of the asphalt.
March 17, 20197 yr good read. We have a similar issue that I'm sure is prevalent elsewhere in that we only have 2 major broadband providers. Cableone and AT&T, neither of them are innovative and will litigate before increasing their offerings. Only when someone new comes into town do they start to step up their game. As always though they will first fight with lawyers to prevent competition of any kind and when that fails then they step up just enough but never really in a big way.
