Fatty's thoughts on BF:V

Well, I'll start off by saying I don't like playing BF:1942 or DC. For us fat guys that can't fly, it's a lot of running, just to be spotted by a chopper or jet and killed, then a lot more running. (Fat guys shouldn't be forced to run so much) On the off chance we can get into a tank/apc, it's pretty much the same thing, a plane/chopper spots you and you're dead.Anyway, BF:V seems a lot more fun. Granted, the M60 is unbalanced, but so what. It will be fixed eventually. There are a lot less vehicles in the maps than DC, which I like. It makes what's there more valuable. Here are a few things I'd like to see changed:1) Limit how many of each kit are availble per team. (Maybe 1 MG per 7-8 people per team)2) Anti-air/anti-armor should be more powerful (It doesn't take 3-4 stingers to shoot down a UH-1)3) Aircraft shouldn't be able to capture flags. (Pilots should have to land and get out of the aircraft to capture them)4) Player's "name tags" shouldn't show up unless the are in line of sight. (You can spawn and spin in a circle and every enemy will show up no matter how far away they are, or if they are hiding in cover... this is the same problem with BF:1942)5) Entering vehicles shouldn't be instant.Just my opinions. Feel free to post comments.-Fatty
Yes Fatty, a sniper that you see is name upper him, it's not a sniper because he must be hidden...For the rest, i agree because it's the same problems on DC & bf1942.Egidio.
There are many new server CVARs added to BF:V so we can adust those to our liking. We run BF:V as a Windows "Service", so we cannot use their hand-dany config GUI (screen). I need some adventurous person to research all the command settings and tell me exactly what you want. I can then manually add them to the config files. The BF:V forums are a good place to start...we now have a link in the "Server Info" block on our site. And by the way, I like BF: V very much as well. It is a great game where the programmers placed alot of detail in it. Any new BF:V players who enter the game and play for only a few minuites, will not know what the game is all about. It has to do with teamwork, and not like some cheap arcade game where a player spawns and immediately starts blasting away. :D . This brings online gaming closer towards real life battle. You need to coodrinate your efforts with your squad, watch your back, look for ambushes, and use tactical movement to take positions (flags) with minimal casualties. It's not a game where you turn your "Sprint" key on and make unrealistic moves. :)
Wow Gator, this bf:v become to begin a real war rules...Perhaps this week end or monday i shall purchase 2 bf:v else next week end.Egidio.

Same here Fatty, although I'm not 'obese' I hate running through these big maps, spotting a helicopter on the other side of the map, and eventually being killed by its amazing amount of missile spam.

Hopefully BF:V will see the error of DC's ways and not go in the missile spam direction :D

... It's the fact that a person of the team is there.
Ya, the game is mainly focused on infantry, but then again in Vietnam there wasn't a mass amount of tanks rolling through the jungle. The game is ver cool. I don't believe the M60 is unbalanced, but I think it is ironic that you get a M60 and a grenade launcher or L.A.W. Which are probably the extreme spam weapons. :DThe helocopters are easy to fly, but it is hard to get use to from the helos form DC.Awsome game. Awsome game. :)
"thank, i needed that" ... laughs i mean from some wisecracks :D i haven't had much free time for play but managed to test slower of 2 pcs in armory server yesterday for about 15 mins. not much of a test yet for it's 1.3 amd/64 mb g2/512 ram , as there were only 4 of us in there.it runs fine in single player with 8+7 ai's so should be good to go with good sized online teams. time will tell. otherwise i'll have to consider another 128 mb gf.o ya, i have much to learn about the games choices/etc ... but liked it very much, especially going with the m60/m79 combo ... my faves  and being able to jump out of sight of enemy tank on steep hill only to pop back up and blast it's bottom rear with m79 :)
I know DICE isnt listening but I have a suggestion:Instead of making the M60 an uber class, with both an MG and an explosive weapon they should make it a base infantry option:There would be 3 choices for base infantry, the first 2 would be the standard CAR and CAR w/ launcher, or M 16 and CAR, or whatever they may be. The thrid choice should be for just and M60 and some handgrenades/pistol. That way, no longer can the M60 person be combination AA, AT, AP, and sniper. The M79 and LAW (They should also add the RedEye because teh GI's are desperately lacking in Anti Air capabilities when they dont have Phantoms) should come with just an M16 or an M14. Perhaps they should also make a bipod option? Of course, these are just petty changes. The overall game is frickin sweet as it is
Buyed 2 yesterday, tested 1 and i like too same as firearms...But i need to buy a new computer because the AMD Duron 950 is old now...Egidio.
