Nvdia 6800 Ultra reiews

Featured Replies

Well, the next gen cards are coming, heh, and the 6800 ultra beats the Radeon 9800XT by some pretty large margins, usually by 33-100% frames per second at 1600*1200 resolution.

Wonder how it will do in BFV? :p

Dont forget: Ati is coming with new cards too. But i think nvidia will catch and keep the throne with the 6800 ultra. My ati 9800 xt is working perfect and i only will change, when some groovy games doesnt running properly.
I think the price is not yet known, but i think the card will be in the same range, as the price for the 5950 ultra, when it was comming out. Some USD 500 - 600 ??
Yeah... Gator, the 9800XT was matched by the 5950 Nvidia. Just wait, ATI will have something coming out soon. And itll kick ass.
aww crappy i jus bought a 9800xt like 3 days ago for 500 smackers , now im gonna want that nvidia card

o trust me, that was money well spent.
they said the performance increase on the 6800 on was on the same order of magnitude as the voodoo1 to voodoo2 change, or the TNT2 to GeForce 256

i am saving up for a new Video card, i might have to wait a little longer!..

Only difference is, ATi's card will grind this one into the ground, it will be fully tested before its even released for testing by the ratings people (tomsHW.com etc) also the drivers will be rock solid as well

check this link out,... already available and better than the Nvidia!

The Radeon X800 will be out soon followed up with X800 XT which will also have 16 pipleines like the 6800 ultra shown in the review. As a note, the standard 6800 will only have 12 pipelines, so performance will come down a notch for the mainstream cards. Still though, the 6800 ultra is wasted unless you intend to run it at high resoultion with 4X Anti-Aliasing and 16X Anisotropic filtering, otherwise, it's only a bit faster then the current cards.I think I'll be more interested in choosing between the standard 6800 or X800 which will allow you to run Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic filtering at 1024*768, I find the smaller text in games run at higher resolutions to be annoying.

Bottom line is the NEW Nvidia card blows them all away.Shotty those are old benchmarks. The 6800Ultra is smacking everything around.
