The Armory has a "do not interrupt gameplay" rule, and part of enforcing this is to prevent players from taking time away from their team's goals and killing members of the other team to boost each other in odd places, or to search for game oddities. If two or three members of a team do this, it stacks the teams and makes them uneven and unfair.

In order to help counter this problem, effective immediately, our admin staff will interpret our current rules and take action on players if they feel that individuals are taking a significant amount of time or effort away from the game's objectives to participate in non game-related activities. Similar offenses, such as interrupting another player's game by insisting that he/she crouches/stands at a certain place, etc. to facilitate movement off the normal game map may also be grounds for administrative action.

We hope this will serve to help players focus more on the normal and fun gameplay of Firearms, while still maintaining our firm stance regarding game restrictions that our members enjoy.

thank you so much to the TA SC. i'm glad you gave this issue some consideration and made a decision to try and combat some of the issues on your server.

of couse, i won't be truly happen until all map exploiting is gone from play on TA, but this is a step in the right direction :)

as for you das haun, prone strafing is not an exploit in 2.8. this was more of a "feel thing" for players and was corrected in 2.9.

Goss, i respect you, and i respect your work. I know you busted your ass to provide CD, a better 2.9, and a number of other things. However, when Mazor claims something is an exploit, or a bug, than i don't care who else says otherwise, it IS a bug, it IS an exploit. Mazor has said it is, i'm not going to say otherwise.

And as for Chappy and Shotty, you're able to (at this moment) take out zoom scripts that allow you to see through walls, and kill your opponant using guns. You wouldn't ban me for having a wall hack, and a zoom script?

Oh, and i believe TA was one of the biggest complainers when net-tez was bringing down the TA server due to a bug in the engine that allowed it to be used. They also were the first to say something about arty crashing servers; yet they banned arty because of the bug.

-edit- Oh, and for anyone who wants to say mazor never claimed it was a bug:

this is for you

We most definitely differentiate between scripts (hacks) and normal game files. Any file(s) designed to circumvent the game is NOT authorized. Players will be instantly banned if found to be using any type of scripts. There is no comparison to a player setting up in a sniping position in the game.

And yes, we are very concerned about anyone who maliciously attempts to crash the server, and yes, the mortar was temporarily banned because of a major crash bug. In fact, it was the first, and last, weapon ever to be banned on the Armory server. Again, you cannot pull any type of analogies from these instances you described that's just plain silly

big difference between bug and exploit das. and mazor posted that awhile ago. alot of other information regarding that issue came up that you are not aware of because you do not test 2.9. the hitboxes were fine for prone strafers. like i said, it was more a feel thing leading to its change.

Ah yes, and he said he considers it both a bug and an exploit. Oh, and just because it's fine during 2.9, doesn't mean it's fine during 2.8. the infinate stanima bug is 'fine' for 2.9, yet still exists in 2.8. So, when 2.9 comes out, i'll completely agree with you (assuming, of course, it is in fact A-O-K) but until then, it's an exploit as well as a bug.

Ah, but it's able to be used for ALL players in the game! All players can change their setup to it! It was put into the game, therefore should be allowed by all. I mean, god forbid there be a bug in a map that the map maker didn't intend for you to use; just like the FA team didn't intend for you to use any scripts that just use HL commands!

If you're going to ban one type of exploit, ban them all. Don't say that X is an exploit that's allowed to be used by all, however it's evil; while Y is an exploit that's allowed to be used by all, but it's good. They're both the same: Horrible, evil little bugs in maps/engines that will eventually be fixed.

hahaha das, stop take a deep breath and read. IT IS NOT A BUG or AN EXPLOIT in 2.8. mazor fixed nothing regarding the hitboxes or any camera issues. that was never the problem. so no it is not a bug or an exploit in 2.8. period.

Well goss, all i know is what mazor has posted. He's posted it's both a bug and an exploit in 2.8. Several other testers have also told me that it's a bug, or an exploit; so i'm going to just go with what the coder of the game says, mmkay?
No point of this thread considering 2.9 is days away so it's locked to keep everything civil.
