I tried to log in to original FA website to post positives I've learned of TA against recent flamer. But although my login name appears in box there i could not remember the password. What I wanted to post for all FA fans to see was the following ... anyone is welcome to copy paste my comments here or anywhere to anywhere ... I appreciate The Armory. I have got much joy playing in their server for yrs. I am human like all of us, and have had times when stressed about other stuff, maybe counted too much on enjoying TA for stress relief. Add to that late night, too much booze, bad team, no one listening, etc ... can get frustrating ...FACT is, I've learned TA has very good intentions ... to be as bad language/manners free as they can for the many young players in the world that find it ... with use of screen text filters for words most parents agree they do not want their children using as it leads to bad thinking and attitudes.They are giving you a FREE priviledge to enJOY their server playing/interacting with others/ getting satisfaction from team interaction/learning to improve/getting and giving smiles and laughter/whether you win or loose ;-) Most of them are very good with judgements ... we are all only human ... with various stresses ... so all are not perfect all the time ... especially if late, tired and maybe "under the influance a bit" ;-)Be understanding ... cut them the slack they cut you ;-)Consider the much work it requires to keep many servers running well, protected from hackers, backed up daily, the stats many of us like to see daily require downtime to be done, etc, etc ...Consider all that is involved ... don't take it for granted.Instead of picking at human imperfections, appreciate and give credit for the big good job they try to do.As I once said ... less wining and more dining ... don't be winers taking up their time ... they are dining you letting you in to have fun ... dine them back ... give them credit where credit IS due ... donate ... you know busy times see full fa server ... encourage them to have 2nd fa server or free up dedicated fa clan match server when not in use, by donating to their high cost in time, money, and frustration dealing politically with winers.So try not to waste their time. It's their servers after all :-)Try to be helpful rather then critical ;-)i have donated and will continue asap.Once you get to know them a little hearing them on ventrillo they use for BFV, you'll understand better they are "hip" ... "cool" ... in other words, respectable people desrving of respect. Especially Gator, Shotty, and the other higher reps ... but they have lives to live so many others helping monitor their numerous servers ... these are not like our paid jobs ... free time for us ... so respsect and be thakful for that ... "Kudos" to you guys, you do respectful job for all ages ... and we get all ages at all times, i mean, late at night we get adults thinking/acting/talking like children ... some regret it and apoligize out of taking game to seriously which i know from past is easy to do ... add to that personal stresses looking for relief ... drugs and alcohol make it worse ... so everyone remember to think more before you speak ;-)Remember alcohol can bo good in small amounts ... but only becasue it is like an amplify for sound, for your thoughts ... as long as ou think positive thoughts it makes them feel more positve and helps you fell better and more relaxed ... once you let yourself think negative thoughts you are in troulble as it will make tohse negatives seem bigger then they are then you must get back thought control fast or stop what you're doing and try to relax ;-) then "coast" maybe with juice ;-) before you do or say something you greatly regret later ;-)ABsalute from [TBT] Srg Shultz ;-)PS : Personally, though some of you get carried away with joking around at times, maybe not being sure to imply you're kidding around, i like some teasing and kidding arround, if not too bad a choice of words, i get smiles and laughs which helps play enjoyment ;-) especially when i hear i not the only one frustrated with constant deaths, hee hee ;-) try to keep it light hearted and fun for others as well as yourself, if getting past that bail out and take break like i do ;-)

yeah i say a lot of stupid things ingame and most are jokes, or me trying to get a laugh( due to my lack of naturally produced ego/self-esteem)in fact the only time im ever serious is when somone is breaking the rulesthanks for your nice words Shultz

TA, for the most part, is good. However, i think they can be better - And it appears to me, that now they're attempting to better themselves. Being a server administrator myself; i know exactly how long, and hard, gator, mac, and everyone else works. It can (quite literally) take 2 or 3 hours fixing one small, very small, bug; in an attempt to better the server. Picking the right admins, having the server monitered just about 24/7 (havn't seen too many downtimes on TA).

 

I respect them; and i've always respected the fact that they're willing to stand up, and take a lot of shit from the entire community; they're one of the few cd-required servers in all of HL that i'm aware of (especially in a smaller mod) to survive. There are many, many good points any server can learn from TA - and many points TA can learn from other servers. I think that TA is a good thing to happen - I just usually don't post on saying how happy i am with them. By now, [TA] should know that if i'm not bitching at them for something, i think their server is run A-O-K

 

In short, thanks for helping out the firearms community TA; hopefully you'll stick around for awhile!

I too enjoy playing on the FA servers It is the best one out there . . . I remember playing on it where it was on WON and it was great to play on just like it is now I played on won a few days go I don't remember what server it was but holy it was bad . . . swearing from left to right bad name calling but the funny thing on this server was you weren't allowed to prone and strafe or crouch and strafe so basically you weren't allowed to do much of anything or you will be banned instantly. But when I played they weren't too happy with me cause I was killing them left and right . . . it was too easy :wink: After that I think I was called almost every bad name they could think of :roll: go figure. Maybe most of them were nubbies? :wink:
