I have the sasser virus, and I cant get rid of it because the installer always restarts the computer. I have no idea what to do. Please help me.-Sock

To stop the restart process, go to Start - Run - and type in "shutdown -a" (no " ")

After you did that download Stinger from McAfee for example

Then you must patch your computer against future sassers and blasters. What OS do you have? You can use Windows autoupdate, install all critical patches. Remember, if you don't patch your comp it can be infected again. And when it is infected id becames the source of viruses itself.

Boot into safe mode then run this

I know you said your AVG expired but there is a free version that does the same thing. Download AND update...then scan.

I never formated when i got a virus ???But last spam was whith an auto update internet options with "coolbear" who open each time 10 to 30 internet windows ????And i can fund it and uninstalled him in the win registers but i do to run the new Anti-Spybot updated to kill web spammers...But for virus, run in safe mode like typed by StateCop and run the fix but you do to be in Administrator to make that !Egidio.

That does nothing to get rid of the virus. I have tested that theory before. Most people who make a know enough about programing to write a virus easily prevent that.

I bet it is in your system restore. Just turn of system restore then restart your computer. When you restart turn system restore back on. I saw this on a computer I fixed not long ago.The AV cleaned it but parts were present in the system restore. The only time it would alert was when he restarted.Also go to disk clean up and then click more options....you should then click the clean up of restore points. Be warned you will loose restore points but this is most likely where the virus is located.

get a cd called Partition magic... and dont be made that eberything was wiped =].... first try the system disk boot. 0or the cd boot

if you already wiped the drive clean then you have no more problems =]

he did all that except wiping it out.

well if he cant boot anymore he may want to. does he have another drive he can put the OS on? and then copy over the files he needs ( possibly infecting it again)

i recently just got an error where my pc could get far enough into setup where i could edit bios, but the windows loading wouldn't show up, my computer would just restartall i could do was reformat, so i did, and now my computer works great
