I use the Logictech marblemouse(trackball) and have never had any problems. The 4 button version i have was 30 bucks!

That's what I got for my parents. It's the cheapest you can find it ($23 US for a brand new Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0?! Nowhere is it cheaper). Good, good mouse. Perfect for someone who is right-handed.
