well i was the about the sixth person to get halo 2 from eb games today. it was about 12:05 am and i was very excited. i got the collector's edition of course :( i have a thing for metal cases. well i immediately went online and started playing. this game looks simply amazing and feels great. all of the guns feel perfect and work perfect. the shotguns are fun, a nice gun for one shot kills close range. the duel weilding is amazing, two of almost any gun, with some exceptions like the sniper rifle. it feels a lot like the old halo but with many improvements. my favorite thing in the whole game has to be the plasma sword :( the first time i got my hands on one i had a little fun  there were about 14 people playing and i was on red team. i got the plasma sword for the first time. i started walking around feeling really excited. the first person i saw ended up on the ground after i sliced him up. it was the second person that really got me happy. i walked towards him and when he turned around i lunged at him from a few feet away and uppercutted his ass, he flew back and died (really cool stuff). i managed to kill two more people after that with this baby  all of the guns are usuable and there are a few new ones. mainly on the covenant side, they have this really cool nade launcher type gun (has 4 shots per belt) that has a blade on the end of it, good for melee attacks. and they have this m14 style gun, just what it reminds me of, that has a 2x scope and little bullets. all of the vehicles can be destroyed now, which is awesome :( they regester damage and the damaged parts show it really well, with missing wings, flat tires, torn up sides, everything! some of the vehicles have been changed a little bit. like the ghost now has a boost type ability and so does the banshee. the banshee can now flip and do barrel rolls. there are a few new vehicles, but i have not played with them yet. masterchief looks really cool now, with more colors and now you can add decals to him. my preference is white with silver decals... he looks really cool with a plasma sword :p i have just barely started the single player game, and it looks great. the detail is amazing and everything is just so beautiful. i will get more into the single player mode as i play, i am still on the first mission and i will post more when i play. i am gonna get ready for school now :p i have been up all night playing. after school i am going to my friends house to play some more  and hopefully we will have a lan party with all of my friends :mrgreen:the only problem with halo 2 is that you have to have and xbox, some of you people don't feel the need for it ;) well i hope you have fun waiting for the computer version (LOSERS!) and for you people who don't like halo for some reason (insanity is the main one, followed by extreme stupidity) please don't stain my thread!!! and G don't ask anyone to give you a xbox, the answer is no...

Anyone who is on Microsoft's press list received an email on the sixth of this month, describing with a fastidious precision the sorts of things you can't say in your reviews. When taken in aggregate, these taboos cover virtually everything I want so desperately to tell you. Sorry. On the other hand, I don't have a copy of the game any more than you do - my playthrough was based largely on skullduggery. Not the leak, you understand, and certainly final code but still not precisely through official channels. So the release version of multiplayer - the only thing one can realistically depict without fear of reprisals - is a topic utterly outside my knowledge. So, now I have to apologize again. I do strive to be useful to you.

The one thing I can tell you is that the game does not appear to have an ending. Whereas the first game did not end, indeed, stubbornly refused to end, even once the content had been utterly used up, Halo 2 goes to the credits at the very moment the story begins to glow hot with heat. I didn't believe it when I first saw it, and I speculate that those who are victorious on Legendary mode are rewarded with more - but when I say more, really I mean anything at all.

It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't just spent a couple months enraptured by the bees, a feat of electronic storytelling which invested the Halo universe with such life and vigor that thoughts of playing Halo 2 were practically overpowering. I never know when I'm being reasonable, when the way I feel about something is actually appropriate to tell another person, so you'll have to forgive me for being disappointed that Halo 2 does not even attempt to resolve the epic conflicts it creates. It's like when you got the really big chocolate bunny at Easter, and all during dinner you imagined what sort of filling might be in there. It would never occur to you that there was nothing inside it, nothing but nothing, air from the tip of the ear down but there's not a Goddamn thing in there short of your fond fucking wishes.

I honestly don't know what compels me to tell the truth on my website. My lot would be much easier for the lack of it.

They're right to place such strictures on what reviews may describe, but unfortunately that means that I can't tell you some of the cool things that help to offset the odd culmination - and I wouldn't want to steal it from you, even inadvertently. Suffice it to say that if you loved Halo, or at any rate you did before Todd converted the Xbox into a bong, really more of a hookah I guess, you will almost surely pee on yourself and quite possibly anyone else who is not safe beneath a tarp. As a gameplay experience, outside of a space of doldrums in the middle, things move with a purpose and embroil you in action setpieces and compelling scenarios that could never have existed in the first Halo - for reasons you'll find out soon enough, in some cases as early as tomorrow night. The story payload that managed to find its way into the completed game will generated fevered speculation for months. Stealing enemy vehicles feels better, if you can believe it, than it does in Grand Theft Auto - a game which is literally named after the procedure. Because the act has not been reduced to an automatic event, you take a far greater degree of ownership in it. Steal a tank and tell me how it feels to bash a hole in the armor plate, planting a plasma grenade inside to flush the occupant. You're going to tell me that feels pretty Goddamn good, and you'd be right. Now, imagine doing it to another person.

Even if you wanted to whimper softly about the ending, you most likely played it in co-op so there is another person there to comfort you. The true fact of the matter is that I give the two of you one minute of half-hearted rage and denial before you're online on the same box, effortlessly joined to games of your skill level, your twin models emblazoned with bee decals, and all real or imagined transgressions of the single player campaign forgotten forever. Don't worry, I'll bear the grudge on your behalf.

(CW)TB out.

don't know how to ack

sounds cool

sadly, I don't own an X-Box, so I'll have to wait for the PC version...

Half-Life 2 is still going to be better :(

I have already bought Peanut M&Ms and pop for hl2's release date.

Someone buy me an XBox please! I'll tell you a secret! :(

OMG I totally agree w/you UnwantedHero, HL2 will blow everything else out of the water! My only problem is that I reeeally want the HL2 Collector's edition, but I don't have a dvd-rom drive! Do you think I could get someone to burn it onto cds for me? Would that work? Anyways, Halo 2 looks pretty awesome, but I will be consumed in the near future by HL2!! ;)

Becca

you could get the Gold package over Steamit's pratically the same thing, and probably low price
BUY ME AN XBOX COW! wow........ i did NOT know that Halo 2 was on XBL!!!!!!!! omg...... you konw what....... when the pc version comes out ima get it .......... then should somehow link XBL and that together...... -G

Well considering the Xbox and PS2 are both $150 and the XBox comes with a Hard Drive and 2 Free Months of XBL. If you get Halo 2 you get another 2 so you get 4 free months. After all this is said,

XBox>PS2

omg jimmy seriously ;)it is probably the greatest fps of all time, and halo 2 that was just released for xbox is just amazing, the first halo came out first only for xbox, but now a pc version is available, you should get the demo if you have no idea what it is 8)its a futuristic game, doesn't have "real" weapons, but plasma rifles and pistols and snipers and crap

yay i get to play with prime! btw... my gamertag is g0dCoW23i am not sure if the "0" is a zero or not, can't remember so try out bot a zero and an "O"i have tried out all of the vehicles and weapons now. all of them are awesome. everyone needs to get this game and play xbox live with me ;) and jimmy, shut up already... you know what halo is so stop spamming my thread! and if you don't have an xbox and have to wait for the pc version i feel sorry for you. it will probably be a while before it comes out for pc and although it will have a few more extras, you will have to have a nice pc to run it smoothly. that is why it is nice to have it on the xbox, you are guaranteed to have everything you need :(
Halo is basically the game that sold the X-BoxI've seen the ending for Halo2, and I'm sure if I played the game all the way through, it'd make more sense, but even then, as I watched it, I was just like "This explains nothing."seriously, it's a cliffhanger ending, but a very crappy one. The covenant are still there, MC is somewhere, I don't know where. And it's about as exciting as watching paint dry. It might draw statements like "Wow" or "Ohhhhh man!" but most likely it'll be stuff like "WTF?" or "Well that sucks doesn't it?"It doesn't seem like a conclusion, it looks more like the part just before the 'Intermission' at the drive in.
a game played on xbox thats THE half life of xbox. widely know for its mulitplayer. its the goldeneye of today-G
I played HALO on XBOX.. I rocked.. I played HALO on PC.. It sucked.. I hated to be killed, before the save point...
I got an xbox for christmas in 2002. I finally opened the box yesterday when a friend came over and brought Halo2. I still hate the goofy controllers, but the game is really fun.I really like using stealth mode, walking up to someone and poking them in the face with the energy blade

I own Halo PC and it's a lot better than the X-Box version

you get better graphics, more people on servers, more maps, more guns, more vehicles, mouse and keyboard support

it's better, nuff said
