Laxton
yea i agree with you markman, the people protesting know absolutely nothing about what they are doing. And then there are stupid people out there with stuff like ** OIL ISN'T A REASON FOR WAR ** they are dumb, if they actually watch the new (i dont really but it seems i know more) or even showed some remote intrest in it to know the information, they would have heard that Bush gave Money for the Hydro Powered Cars. Hes said like 999999 times that we arnt going to take over, just build them a gov't and take away someone thats causeing them to suffer day after day. Those protestors need to see that if we dont go to war then they will eventually do something to us and then wonder why Bush didn't do anything. People are stupid, i hate protestors, if you sat down with one and talked with them they would show absolutely no point, because the fact remains if we dont do something, he will always be there making them suffer and will use his chemical warfare against us and others. How many americans have to die before they realize that this needs to be done?
AlaraphonAMD
Now I must interject here. I back a war against Saddam Hussein and his oppressive government. But do not make your reason for war be backed by blank statements....yes the news is great but do some research. If you don't then you are no better than that "hippie" as was so delicately put. Do some research on the reasons we are going to war. ** OIL ISN'T A REASON FOR WAR ** I'll be the first to tell you that yes the Oil is one small reason for the war.....but a small one. he will always be there making them suffer and will use his chemical warfare against us and others. Hmmm.....where do you get the info from Laxton? Under my impression the UN didn't find any chemical weapons....our government did but people could easily say that the government is just making case for war. Try using since he had accounted weapons before and supposedly doesn't now and has NOT accounted for how they were destroyed then it is safe to believe that he may have them....but that is still not proof just evidence. How many americans have to die before they realize that this needs to be done? What are you reffering too? Sept. 11th? Hmmm.....weak arguement there too. We may see that Saddam has a link to Al-Qaeda but that doesn't mean he knew about the attack or even supported that specific target.....doesn't mean he didn't either....simply saying weak arguement here. And do not blanket either that "protestors" do not know what they are doing......some do..... some make VERY valid points.....but we as a nation have to balance the good and the bad. The threat and the non-threat. And our government has determined that he is an imediate threat and it's time to hold him accountable for the horrible things he's done. Like using chemical weapons against the Northern Kurds of Iraq. Now just a small statement about them saying "We can't go it alone". Well we can, may not be a smart idea, but we can. France, strongly opposed to the movement against Iraq MAY have alternative motives, just as WE MAY. The French, after the Gulf War, invested much time and money into Iraq for oil whereas most other countries, Britain, US, and Canada included reduced their contributions. With an American backed government to replace Saddam surely the French will lose much money and resources. Just a thought. (I so badly wanted to try and make some comment about the French like, "The French are only our friends when the Germans beat on their door" but I with held myself)(Oh and you should try this.......Go to http://www.google.com and type in "french military victories" then hit "Feeling Lucky?"....I laughed my rear off for 2 hours straight....it's hilarious.)Anyway....sorry to have rambled but it seemed that we were becoming a nest of anti-warprotestors and we weren't giving the proper reasons just as the girl in the sound bite wasn't.....just wanted to make sure no one could say the same thing about us that they did about that poor, mislead child.*"And when I say child I'm not insulting you. We all are children and have to grow...."*P.S. Now ain't that the truth
Enders
** OIL ISN'T A REASON FOR WAR ** I'll be the first to tell you that yes the Oil is one small reason for the war.....but a small one. Nope...wrongoif you listened to his Address to the Nation...he said "The people of Iraq own the oil, not Saddam." So he's gonna say that...then sneak in and take it for himself...nope...the oil has absoutly nothing to do with this warhe will always be there making them suffer and will use his chemical warfare against us and others. I must correct you again (no offense)Back before the first gulf war...he unleashed a chemcial attack upon his own country and Iran (as you stated)...so you're saying he has only 2 chemicals weapons out of his whole arsenal...wow...)(Oh and you should try this.......Go to http://www.google.com and type in "french military victories" then hit "Feeling Lucky?"....I laughed my rear off for 2 hours straight....it's hilarious.) LOL!Oh man...that's awesome...lolPost Script: Did hear that Euro-Diseny cancelled it's fireworks show...the french keep surrendering
Shadowstalker
Just a little statistic for u all concerning iraq. Did you know that in the last war the united states killed 400,000 civilians. Second point is that about 11 americans died in desert storm and about half where due to friendly fire. And my last statistic is that in iraqs population 53 percent of the population is under 15 years old. It is the youngest nation in the world. Why do we go to make war on children.Something to think about.
AlaraphonAMD
Well shadow you make good points though I'm skeptical of the source...as always. As far as you are concerned UnwantedHero whjen I was refgferring to oiul I meant that the new government that the US will instill in Iraq is obviously going to be friendly to the US for ousting Saddam.....that makes oil a tiny reason for war. The new government is friendly and so we get better oil prices. Like using chemical weapons against the Northern Kurds of Iraq. What I said before that was the statement given was purely emotive. He was making an assumption. Yes I agree I think that Saddam has chemical weapons....but thats just what I think. Just b/c he's used them before DOES NOT mean he has them now. He could have very well destroyed them. It's unlikely he doesn't have them but we don't know for sure (as civilians). We're not even sure if he'll use the chemical weapons he has (if he does actually have them) against us....it's not likely....many countries are somewhat opposed to us....and using chemical weapons will bring those that oppose the US TO THEIR SIDE.....Saddam isn't stupid....he's just an oppressor. AlaraphonAMD
Well to be honest Jedi....the war has not yet started. And it is still possible for it to be stopped. Unlikely but possible. And even if the war does start tonight at 8 when Saddam's time is up...that isn't the end of it....we still must be vigilant and stand up for whatever it is we believe/know as you put it. That is something we should never forget...we have a right and the only way they shall be acknowledged is if we voice ours.
Enders
and if you look at itit's not a warit's a conflictwars are when you declare war on an opposing country..and you gotta have a good reason...the U.S just says Iraq is dangerous and that if final (which is kinda gay/cheap)so you gotta declare war with a good reason...and it's gotta be on paper...so

DEFCON
much as the french are pissing me off (and im sure we Americans piss them off), i will refrain from bad mouthing them because psy4 is cool, and my step-grandmother is 100% french. Anyhoo, its already happened, before bush spoke tonight at 10:15 we took out a leadership "target of opportunity" in a "decaptitation attack" over Baghdad. I wonder who it was? *cough*Hussein*cough* I wish, it was probably a general.
DEFCON
oh yah, forgot: that stupid girl sounds like the idiots at my school. Its not that they are against war that bothers me, its that they actuallly have no leg to stand on in their arguments. They practice Nickolodeon diplomacy just as Mohamed said. Most of the girls sound like the one on the tape. One guy today said that the US invaded Kuwait or was somehow the agressor in 1991.

Laxton
back to what amd was saying about my cpost. What do you mean where do i get my information, did you not hear that the chemical weapons magically disapeared that they knew he had, which he denied having and said he didn't destroy them. or did you just feel like acting like you know what your talking about and destroy what someone put?the point i was trying to make about the protestors, and the whole oil isn't a reason for war, was that i was trying to point out that Bush specifically stated that we are not going there for oil and that we are not going to be taking it or even want them to destroy it due to the fact that we dont want to have to rebuild there economy also. I wanted to point out that they are protesting the war for reasons that bush has specifically stated that he wasn't going to do.I'm all for the warQuik comment to you AMD, think about what your saying before you do it, rather then reambling on to make it seem you know what your talking about
