This afternoon, the DOOMSDAY WARRIORS Battlefield2 Community site has launched the following Fund Raiser effort, to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina:

 

Having seen the news coverage of devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the plight of the victims, most of us feel compelled to act and lend a helping hand.

 

Most of us may only have very limited funds, but by pitching in - perhaps we can raise a sum large enough to make a difference.

 

We have set a goal of $2000 aside that we would like to raise for the RED CROSS. Even if we do not reach this goal, we will forward whatever donations we've received for this effort. However, we're adding an incentive - if we are successful in reaching our goal:

 

Whoever makes the highest donation, will receive a SAITEK Cyborg EVO Joystick as our personal "Thank You" gift.

 

I know this prize isn't the true purpose of this effort, but it at least helps show our appreciation for your generosity. The prize will be privately funded - not from the donation proceeds. Every dime raised for this effort will go to the relief effort.

Cool! Actually the cool thing is that I might be heading down there to help with everything and anything. I called red cross today I asked them if there was anything I could do to help. The woman was like well do you want to head down there? So they are send me an application of some sort, and I have to take a training class of some sort. Then hopefully I will be on my way.

This thread can be closed. After about a week after we started this, I heard so many reports of fraudulent fundraising sites, I decided to just stop taking donations and forwarded the money I had already received. Instead, I've change the Donation link on my page to donate straight to the RED CROSS.

 

After all - it doesn't matter HOW you donate, as long as you DO. :peace:
