if realism is what was wanted the pilot should be able to look forwar and side to side..same with gunner...this i do not see....realism is long gone with ea patches....this effect does not sit well with me and a few others i've spoken to...but then again i do not make the rules...hope some good comes from this:banana:
You can look side to side, up and down, just hold the crouch key and look around. That's how I find all those little buggers when flying by...weeee ooo another person calling for delivery... impact special coming up. :)
well, im kind of neutral, there are pluses and negitives to either or, I personally would prefer the nosecam on only because the actual viewing area is about 25% then all you can see is cockpit, if its a realism issue, then really the choppers should be equiped with radar and you would see everything without even looking out the window, also a gunner in a real chopper would have the same view as nosecam, It would be much better if you could turn it off for the pilot, and leave it on for the gunner. But unfortunitly we cant, so either way is a loss for somebody
When I say realism, I mean you can see the cockpit shake when you fire you guns, or get hit with other air or ground fire. It also prevent the pilot from being to accurate with his bombing runs and gives the ground targets a small bit of relief. It was just a test to seee how everyone would like it, so Smash's feedback was welcomed.
understandable, I realize the groung pounders are at a disadvantage, thats what I mean when I say either way on/off someone is at a disadvantage weather it be the chopper or ground troops. Either way is ok with me, just means more practise if the descision is to leave it off. Also when I fly jets/planes I always use the cockpit view for the realism plus it gives me a better idea of where i am in terms of hitting the ground and such, I dont know but for some reason I fly jets much better while in cockpit view, just a personal prefrence, choppers though I do like to use the nosecam only because alot of what your shooting at is below you, also in a plane you get the nice little markers so u can see what your shooting at long before its in your actual view. Just thought I would add my input:)

im always up for things to make the game better...but there are some things that just don't work for me....for the poor guy thats cant fly wortha damn as it is and then to have to try and do it with only 1/3 the screen i could see it being a little disgruntling...but then again i didn't give it much of a chance....you can leave it on if you want...just like ice_10 said "it just means more practice"  :)
Real pilots don't get that kind of view, and whether it's 100% accurate or not, not having it is far more realistic than strapping your butt to the nose of the plane. It's pretty windy up there....
Well, for what it's worth, the feedback on the VSF teamspeak channel last night when we were playing on the Armory server was a big :) :D . Perhaps we're spoiled. :)
You learn something new everyday...

sheesh i only say it everyday in Vent :) .

i dont really mind having the nose cam off, itll probably make me a better pilot.

i can see where Smash is coming from though.

you know...i'd smack you upside the head with a wiffle ball bat but i dont think it would do any good since it doesnt do too much damage to jets or tanks:banana: :D
lol, i got into the little bird last night and crashed into a tree a few seconds later while trying to blow up a car. I think i could use it back on

At firist I thought my game had broke, but now I know. It was different with it enabled because i cant see anything in the US attack chopper with the gunners head in the way, but i got used to it and had a good round with the littlebird.
