Okay so, are we leaving BF2 for BF2142..?

If So, I will wait for it

If Not, I will probly get SF/AF

get just SF. AF is good, but if you want to play with us a majority of the time, id go with SF.

We will be moving to 2142 when it's released, yes.

well if we were to get our server going good do we want to just go to the new game or still keep a server for the "old " one.

We might want to see how 2142 is going to do first K-Town before we claim anything on it.

Some good questions in this thread.

Would it be best to dedicate full server bandwidth/ping to new game which may have higher server demands then previous games.

Or if not that many members getting it right away, would it be workable to run medium size servers for it and bf2. So that it can be tested by those that get it asap and still allow other members to play in our BF2 server.

My guess is this can only be known when it is released and we see how many get it and how much bandwidth it uses.

I'm kind of hoping that we run both SF and 2142. That way for the people that can't afford, or don't have computers updated, can still play on our server. It would be a shame to have everyone that couldn't afford 2142 to go to another server instead of ours. Just my 2 cents.
i'v been out here in the back country for the summer, somone tell me agian with 2142 comes out agian? is it already out?
Stay with SF Vanilla startin to get boring also our server crashes anywhere from 2-3 times in one hr when that happens i come over here for some SF goodness

the crashes and 1.3 are really driving droves of people away from the Battlefield

nothing is more irritating then having your 100+ point rounds not count because of some random crash with 20 tickets left :D

i still need to download that 1.4 beta and test out infantry only mode

this server is by far the best non "24/7 iron gator" server i've ever played on! :D :D :D

I agree, and the player base is dropping as each day passes. After an entire year, they finally got smart and opened up public Beta testing in an effort to make things better.

The driving force behind the Beta testing is "dollars and cents". They proudly reported sometime back that "Battlefield 2" had reached over 55,000 simultaneous players at one single moment in time, but now I would say that number is drastically lower.

I think they have noticed the player count drop significantly, and realize it may threaten future sales of BF2142. The consumer is losing confidence in their product. They may continue to sell many copy's of BF2142, but I think the failed "patches" in the BF2 core engine will influence some gamers to not buy their product any longer.

Just my 2 cents

I will not be purchasing 2142. Beside my distaste for the futuristic genres, I don't really see the point in buying a game that is the same as the one I already have now with different textures. Sounds like a mod to me. Why pay $50 when I can download one for free? And if the stat system incorporates your current data (as I've heard) then there really is no point (pun intended), stats wise, to buy and play this new game.
Unless I get something worthwhile from 2142 - example: SF guns usable in BF2:MC - then I'm not going to get it. I've thought about it, and like snc says, it seems too much like a nice mod. Fifty dollars, which I could spend elsewhere, is just too much for something that is so similar to a mod.

Well I will be buying 2142, as much as I hate to admit it >: (

I like BF2. But my CD drive isint working and I can't figure out why... I'm checking to see if its still covered for free replacement. I'll let you guys know when I can get back on. Ugh... :flame:
I think that we should move on to vanila and just play on karkand 64 player map. Its a great map

not a chance in hell

Karkand 32 > Karkand 64.

Oh, and Jibbel City + Tactical Mod > All.

However, I'm growing tired of not playing with the Armory guys. I miss you all! I've been playing nothing but BF2:MC (Vanilla) and I love it--to death--and it seems that all you guys play BF2: SF! I've gotta say, I find BF2:MC to be an all-around better experience, both on a server level and on a personal level.

Regardless, it seems like TAC wants BF2:SF, so...I'll keep playin' solo, I guess. ;_;
