ok so i just got DOD retail and i cant get FA to work something about the server needs to be updated to hlds 4.1.1.1 ? :shock: ? what does this mean and how do i know if a server is running this? pleas any kind of help would be helpfull.........

it say cannot construct approptiate connectio request file, must be running with valve authintcation? what is causeing this only happens on some servers most notably ones that run the new form of CD (your server, tracy's trailer park, and wt3 durandal 24/7, please help me old and wise TA

Uninstall it. Download the DOD you want to play. There are two being played right now.Then try your FA out.

i have the retail 1.0 which means it came in the box from the store which means i dont have to Dl it. :wink: Also there are no client side updates that i am aware of only server patches. :? Hince why can i only play in some servers on FA? I placed a support request and asked our server provider to install the latest version. We were running the old version because the new HL Server version had some problems. Hopefully it will be updated tomorrow. The server may go down for a few minutes during that time.Gator

It is a server thing. No need to worry, kids.

They upgraded today to the latest version of HL for Linux....here is the email I received from ECGN (Note that the Linux verison carries a lower number, but it is the most current release)

 

It's upgraded to 3111c1...Added a few lines to the bottom of the server.cfg. Leave them there for HLSW compatibility.
