After playing for a few hours last night. I didn't see the Red/Blue bug, I didn't crash to desktop, and the server didn't crash. The game seemed smoother to me, but that just may be me. What are your thougts, and how wouyld you rate v1.4 at "First Impression" ;)

well so far no team bug/or crash to desktop.But (and i could be for a million reasons) i noticed it running more laggy.i could barely move at all in some servers i tryed out 3 our's including and man i hope it's just my connection or something cuz i wouldn't beable keep playing if this is what i have to deal with.

I did just have to reinstall everything so i'm hoping a good defrag can work it out a bit.i already am using all low settings so i can't turn them down anymore.

but the game seemed the same for the most part really.

So far, from playing about 6 rounds, I'd say this is what EA should have done in patch 1.1

 

1) Hit registration seemed better

 

2) Aircraft armor was increased a bit (takes 3 AA missiles to bring down any aircraft) but tank main gun rounds do less damage to helicopters.

 

3) Did not see a single red/blue bugged player yet.

 

4) Not a single crash to desktop.

 

5) Gator hacks.

 

6) They added a delay to the attack helicopter guns (like the 'warm up' from the blackhawk's miniguns)

 

7) APC rockets take a LOT longer to reload.

 

That's about all I have noticed yet, but I will be playing again tonight :D

 

All in all, I give it at least one fat thumbs up ;)

k_town, make sure your connection is set to "Cable" and not to "T1". If you do not have a T1 connection, it will cause lag.

Actually, I get that from other players because I am the great BF2/SF player in the Universe. :D

i liked the changes , i wasnt alive long since fatty had the tank in every round.

Yes, it was fun. I was on most of the later afternoon yesterday, and it was definately fun playing with all the guys again. Look foward to doing it again this afternoon too!

i figured out that when i reinstalled it changed my settings all back to med. and that is why i lagged soo badly.now it's all better yeah ;)

I had one crash to desktop while playing on the VSF server...I'm not sure what happened but the problem seemed to be local. It wasn't one of the CTDs I got frequently on 1.3 when hitting the "Join Game" button.

 

Didn't see the tag bug in 5 rounds but I could go weeks not seeing it in previous patches and then see it frequently. Too early to make a call on this one, especially given EA/DICE's inability to fix this since the demo came out.

 

Played a couple of rounds of Jalalabad. It was pretty good. Certainly not a "Wow" map...there are many maps on Vanilla, SF and PoE2 that I like better.

 

On the Gator hacks...if it weren't for Gator generously stopping my bullets last night I don't think I'd have gotten any kills. :D ;)

Once i rebooted, i didn't have any lag problems. I noticed that they haven't fixed the tow from locking on the towers. :D Oh, and one other thing, Cleatus hax too!!!! ;) :D :) j/k

Those are the anti air missiles, and they are supposed to lock on to those towers... If you look at them, they have big flamey things on top (No, NOT Klink, but like Klink :) )
Excellent. Hit detection is better. Haven't noticed the name bug (yet). The only thing that kept me from voting outstanding is that the rest of the Euro Forces guns were not unlocks. Darn.

I found it to play a lot like the BF Vietnam I came to love and enjoy a lot. I could actually kill people when I shot them.

 

I also found the maps loaded a lot faster, and the game never lagged for me. After I installed the patch I did what I always do, a defrag and reboot.

 

I think EA Finally did something right and I look forward to many more rounds with all of you.

I voted good thus far because I havent really tested it out. But the time I did play yesterday it seemed much more smooth in gameplay and no CTD/server crash. I dont encounter the red/blue bug very often so its hard to tell if its fixed yet. But so far so good ;)
You can still bunnyhop, do the prone jive, and gl people from 10 feet. The patch fixed less than half of my biggest issues.
Excellent patch in my opinion, no more crashes and I haven't seen the red/blue bug. They did a good job of finishing bf2 presumably that this is the final patch for it. Couldn't really ask for much else since 2142 comes out relatively soon.
it seems as though the stability and red/blue bugs are fixed, registration seems better....my problem....prone to standing is a minimum 2 seconde delay before i can shoot..i know they added a prone-crouch delay but not prone to standing so i can shoot....i do not like
the patch isnt that bad i havent had any problems with it. EA might have finally did it. Lets hope............

Tried few rounds. Did defrag. Haven't rebooted yet, guess I should considering previous posts on that. Had quite a few disconnects from server during play or trying to join. But may need reboot and bad storm in area making pings bounce a lot.

 

When in playing it seemed an improvement.

I think its been pretty good so far. Bullet registration seems better and the game seems somewhat smoother. Time will tell :eek:

It seems better. Tried BF2 SF but actually crashed to the desktop twice.

 

I am going to clear cache and defrag.

 

Nothing Overclocked either.
