While desperately looking for a BF2142 download link, I stubbled onto this old announce for Battlefield 1942 Demo.

I remember the demo but never played the full game. After looking at the screenshots I am regretting not buying it. Looks like some great dogfights.

I think that was the reason people played 1942, it was a very popular mod and I never played the vanilla game, it was always DC
