i work in retail and work at a tech bench so i've been playing around with vista alot, i personally like it , if you computer can handle it

The big thing is if you want to put on a empty HD with no upgrade CD you can still buy upgrade and when the installation see's you have no previous version it will put on a 30day trial. From there you can Put the disc back and REINSTALL the upgrade and the trial will count as a previous installtion and WALAA! you have fully installed windows vista and saved money

The funny thing is...microsoft sent this information to us lol...

I have Vista ultimate and its great, all the drivers download automatically for all my components. searching and finding things are alot easier now. dont need to have winzip and rar, its already in the os.

I like the widgets as well.

Right now I would say 32 bit, I've had nearly no problems what so ever. 64 bit has driver issues among some other problems, I'm sure it will eventually be fixed, but 32 bit is the way to go now.

So of I get the 32 bit now, how much will it cost me for the 64 bit later? Do I have to buy new or is there a 64 bit upgrade?

It comes with both dvd's you chose which one to install, I'm not sure how that would work though if you just want to switch to 64 bit.

you install whichever one you have processor for....is your CPU 32bit or 64bit? if you upgrade to a 64 bit chip later, the OS will prompt you to insert the 64 bit DVD for the upgrade. cheers!

64 bit is just not happening.

You'll see more multi threaded applications developed faster for Dual/Quad core CPU's than you will software for 64bit applications in the next few years.

Dont worry about it.

I bought vista the other day, have yet to install it. Waiting to get home to put all the parts I bought on newegg together and hopefully make a computer with vista on it.
