Lately it seems the level of play has diminished on the armory servers. IT used to be the only place I would come play because of how the server was run, the level the players that joined were on, and most of all it was the place I had the most fun. Now it seems like everytime I go its worse and worse. I hate to say it but since some of the vets of the armory left it seems to have gone down hill and that their spots were hurried to be filled and kinda took a turn for the worse.

 

I know its my choice to join the server and that I can go other servers if I dont like whats going on there. Its just the fact that I hate to see what was one of my favorite places turn into my last resort.

 

Oh well end of my *****ing, any new games coming out

 

**Edit** I am by no means try to bag on the server or anyone on it just making a observation.

a little OT, but ive been playing BF2 again recently, its far more enjoyable that BF2142.

Oh we are still here its just that, some are not on as regular as they like ie: work deployments schedules, im on almost every night just cant pull the all nighters lol, we have been going back to some of the older games vietnam, bf2, css we call it the game of the week, i haven't seen you for awhile thought just my observation. good to see ya DB:thumbsup:

-I think people are just getting tired. The game is always the same, the 'strategies' never waver.

-As for The Armory, we have high level players, and casual players. I, for instance, could not kill a cow with a :thumbsdown:voss:thumbsdown: (pictoral opinion inserted...check!) to save my life, so I defend back flags (and have saved our team more hassle than they know) and cover 'sneaky' areas. Others (Phrogg, Frost, etc.) will shred the other team...not to mention what they can do with the screen turned on! -Last, there are...the other people on the server...they just enjoy the server. There is no skill cap, and when a server becomes popular it contains a large variety of people. If someone is not very good, on some other servers they get yelled at or kicked (extreme case). On the Armory we squad up with them and help them get better...if they are good people they could get into the clan. It is not that they are rushed in, just invited.

-I understand that you do not mean any harm, nor do I. The 'skilled' people you used to play with are still around, probably just tired of the same old game...they are good because they used to play alot.

well as one who could be considered rushed in i take no offense . i am not the best of players but i am a team player. those of us that are not as skilled can only improve . so please keep coming and help make it the skilled environment you are looking for. i am here for fun and the experience that yall can offer

I have been so darn busy I have no time! I am one of the not-so-skilled, but I love to play. My time schedule (when I play) is usually like 4:00 am, no one is up yet! (well, maybe in Ireland...) lol but I play when I can... I have been thinking of spending what playing time I have on BF2, although I love some of the NS maps! Either way, I don't think we are going anywhere, we are all just "in-between-games" (sort of like "in-between-jobs?" lol)

I don't know what you are trying to ask, or say, but we have the same quality members, and server, we have enjoyed for the past 5 years. We have high standards for acceptance into our clan, and we don't quickly fill member slots, for any reason, at any time. Our server hardware is superior, and we never, never over-task our servers. We promote a friendly environment for all players, whether playing on our game servers, or while visiting our website.

 

The few "Vets" you speak of were composed of some bad apples, and I have no further comment about that subject. Their departure does not make or break us in any way, form or fashion. As with other clans, we have members come and go all the time. Its the normal evolution of an Internet gaming clan, and thats just how it goes. Sometimes its sad to see them leave, and sometimes its not.

 

We have some very talented players, and some who are not so talented. Our community is built on character, and not how well an individual plays, or how often they play. As I said before, our server hardware is outstanding, and we never, never over-task it. We, as a clan, ensure your gaming environment is friendly, fair, and impartial. We have a website that is friendly, informative, and helpful; offering free downloads, conversation, and just plain Ole good wholesome interaction.

 

We like to see our regulars, like yourself, have the best gaming experience possible. Presently, we have three members serving bravely in Afghanistan, so they will be away for the good part of a year. We have some players who are playing other games at the moment, because they are burned out on BF2142, or some might be playing other games of interest. Some members may be participating in matches, or may have other "Real life" commitments to contend with.

 

If you feel slighted in any way, please let us know, as we will do our best to accommodate you. If not, there are many servers out there to play on, and you may find one that is more suitable to your liking. Either way, we have, and continue to enjoy your company.

Well I been playing cnc3 & stalker to change the pace a bit as alot of us have been doing. great games btw.

 

alot of us regulars are just taking a break for a bit.

I've been playing a little 2142 along with some CnC3 just to change it up a little bit. We don't just pick anybody of the street, we've always had the same requirements for membership and nothing has changed over the past months. Just one last thought, I would never call any of them "vets" by any means.

As Gator stated we don't judge people by how well they play. When I first came to the Armory, I was invited to put an application in. I kept asking myself why would they want me, I'm not any good? Well, once I was around long enough I found out. Just because you aren't as skilled as some others doesn't mean that you can't be a member of the Armory. It's just not all about being skilled. It's a combination of character etc. What is inside the person, how they act and so on. Some people have many other talents. To become a clan you need people with many different types of skills and talents to make it whole and complete. That is what we say when we call ourselves " A Family". Not all of us are perfect, but together we make a pretty darn good Clan!

Some of us just don't have the time others do to play alot. I used to be on all the time, but, I've found myself working a lot lately. I work 2 part time jobs and 1 full time job. Alot of us are burned out on 2142. After you get all the unlocks and rank up as far as you can go, what fun or challenge is there left? BF2 SF might be good for a change of pace. We are still here, but some of us are taking a break, going to war, playing other games, having computer problems, etc. Also, just not anybody is rushed in as a clan member or as an admin. We are not desperate for people, and we take our time in picking a person to become a member of our "family".

Phew! I guess I was a little long winded.

I guess I worded it wrong, Im not doubting anyones skill being im at best average. Im talking more along the level of insuring a good game and not just chasing points. Too me that takes the fun out of it, yeah i like to get a good score but id rather have zero at the end of the round and have enjoyed the game and had more fun doing so. To me I dont think thats the way it is on the server anymore. Again just my opinion, thanks for all the responses and sorry if it comes off as stepping on anyones toes or doubting the clans skill level. GI joe I have to catch up with ya man, always have a good time when you are around whether you are on my team or the opponents

I've been on Armory a number of times where various players, both Armory and non-clan, have switched sides to try to make the game more balanced. Regardless of which side you are on, I think the trick to enjoying your time on any server is to play with a good squad.

 

Overall, I'd say that Armory is a darn solid server. Thanks!

Seems appropriate that this would be my first post on this forum. Gotta disagree with you DbDriven. Armory ranks in the top of the many servers that I've played in terms of quality and fun. I don't disagree that there are some down times when either there aren't that many players on, or when the teams are severely lopsided, but I'm sure that's a problem that almost every other server out there has experienced. I think the difference with Armory is that the Armory peeps do a great job in trying to make sure that everyone has fun. I've been on Armory a number of times where various players, both Armory and non-clan, have switched sides to try to make the game more balanced. Regardless of which side you are on, I think the trick to enjoying your time on any server is to play with a good squad.

Well said Armory Brothers and Sisters....you said it better than I could of. I am on a short break from the game myself and I would not be in this clan if it wasn't the way it is. I'll be back soon...I miss Ouchdog being my bullet sponge and that goofey %$# Freefall!
