our VSF friends has a DCON server if you want to check it out. And Tom we used to play DC as a clan its sort of in our blood ;) But its cool seeing what some of fav maps look like now and the arty strikes are a lot cooler when you can see where they're going now ;)

this was.. well the best modern combat mod i have played in a long time... much better than EoD on the vietnam engine.

i will be looking into this when i get back to my main PC upstairs

isnt desert combat a bit redundant for bf2? Give us the low down on what makes it fun

the realism is there the shots are dramatic not a lot of splash damage but very powerful the m109 is as real as it gets and they acually call for fire

the warthogs and all the different jets are awesome to fly there is a c130 with a 155mm artillery cannon and anti air guns attached to it, all of these vehicle are authentic all the weapons are also they done good by the bf2 engine i was hesitant at first, it works right from your bf2 disk after loading very, very smooth, ranked and free. what more could you asks for. Thats all, Carry :Dn.

How are the planes and helo's ding, same as the original? the quick response rates and decent aero-handling?
I tried it, it was alright, nothing special. I thought the vietnam mod was much better.

granted there needs to be some work to reduce lag issues but i thought dcon's alot better that EOD. EOD is to dark and grassy by the time i see someone im dead. but if they get the lag taken care of in DCON it looks very promissing ;)
I didn't see anything in DC that made is stand out from any other of the bf2 mods, granted there are new models and skins...so what? The mods need something new and fresh to make people want to play it, some of the new modes of DC weren't exciting and played poorly on some of the maps. Maybe because they released a partially finished/playable version. But EOD did a much better job attracting me than DC. EOD has some dark maps, but that makes it fun. You need to stay alert and look where your going, maybe they do to need to lighten it up and add some nvg's but they have done so much already to it.

You don't buy it, you can download it for free at http://www.desert-conflict.org/. Thanks to the Armory guys who've been stopping by and hitting the VSF server, you guys are always a welcome addition to any map. :)

Oh, and Freefall, bellywhomping with the AC-130 on a tank will only take out 1/3 of the plane's hit points while crushing the tank, but she doesn't fit into too many places. Still fun to hear it over TS, though. :)

Huh? To the best of my knowledge, 2142 is built on the BF2 engine; that's why the hacks and cheats that worked oh so well in BF2 were applied so easily to 2142.
