It's been a long time coming, but the pieces are finally coming together here at Insurgency mod.

I'm pleased to say that there's a real buzz of energy and excitement between the Developers and Testers that you can really feel.

This is because we're very close to the release of the mod! (June 2007)

"The plan is to finish the mod tonight, for a tomorrow launch. I hope to see you guys on IRC for release"

Taken right from the mouth of Jeremy (the mod leader). This statement was made today.

Update for you guys, they're planning on a july 1st release because of a delay, it will be out Sunday er.. today :D

Hope to see you guys around, been missing shooting all of you since TA closed the FA server.

Question, if I have CSS installed but not HL2 can I still play this?

no u don't need hl2 installed and if you want mods or plugins that require hl2 install the base which is located in the tools

Cant wait for this to come out, It's going to be a good change of pace from battlefield :D

edit: There website keeps crashing, it's probably getting hammered with so many connections

no u don't need hl2 installed and if you want mods or plugins that require hl2 install the base which is located in the tools

I see "source SDK" and "source SDK base", both of them or just the base?

Edit: Never mind, I answered my own question.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_SDK

http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Source_SDK_Base

Seems you need the base for the engine and the SDK is just the developer's kit.

their site isn't responding lol. too busy probably. and it prob wont even release till tonight ;o

I've been basically on the back of the devs here, I'm in TS with them, and as per 8:00 CST, straight from the mouth of ET --

ETA 2 hours, but I'll still let you know when it's out.

This mod's dev team is utter crap with public relations, so... =/

Isn't it only going to be on Fileplanet for the first few hours biscuit? Yea, the release could of gone a little bit better, but I guess that's what happens after 5 years of development :p I was in the IRC channel for a a little bit but it was complete pandemonium. I forgot I had made a forum account there, I Just made my first post in 2 years. I signed up back in 2005 :D

I'm-a let you in on a little secret, TAC.

They have a deal with Fileplanet that says on their main page (http://insmod.net) they can only link to FP for 3-5 hours. BUT! They can link in the forums to other mirrors and torrents and other things like that. SO!

While everyone else is waiting in line, if you're part of the forum community, you get in early. Pretty sweet, huh?

I was part of the 150+ person rant-fest that was going on in that TS you joined, sharp. Lemme tell you, everyone was (and still kind of is) pissed.

-------------------

Just an update though. 4AM PST is when FP is supposed to get their files. In other words, release = 0400 PST, 0700 EST, 1200 GMT.

This is straight from Jeremy's mouth and you won't read it anywhere on the forums.
