Well hello people im new to The Armory and this is my first post...

 

I recently got Vista Ultimate and it is a complete rip off from mac. But i've gotta tell ya it is :cool:COOL:cool: it has so many features and gadgets but it is confusing you dun know where to find stuff!!! Also its expensive:eek:!!!

The only good thing about vista is that its cool and this version of vista is only cooler...

 

Anyway... PLZ POST :DThis is my First:D

I've had nasty luck with vista for software dev and gaming work. But I'm holding out some hope SP1 will come out soon.

 

Until then, Ubuntu for me. :rolleyes:

I have vista ultimate as well but i'm running 64bit version its a challenge constantly having to reconfigure my games to make them run but i've learned alot. If u have any trouble with it just let me know between me and a couple of other vista users we can make it work for ya. Also SP1 is coming soon very soon

vista is great, yes it may have some of the same features as mac but who likes to use mac? not gamers.

 

I have vista ultimate and it works great for me. I prefer using vista over mac anyday, in my opinion mac sucks. In mac everything is laid out backwards from microsoft, tweaking is not an option since a majority of it is automated.

 

Basically someone saying vista is a complete ripoff of mac doesnt know how to use it.

Vista's not more intuitive than a Mac. Just because it's backwards from what you're (we're) used to, doesn't make it any less usable or correct.
For the record, I use Vista daily. And it annoys the crap out of me, daily. I want to throw things when I see windows pop up that have columns that can't be resized, no previous buttons on wizards, and it takes 12 seconds to move a 1k file between directories. At least once a day, I feel like throwing something at my screen.

I prefer PCs over Macs also but I've noticed a lot of people who enjoy Macs like the no nonsense use of the computer. They just want to do what they are working on and basically don't care that its even a computer. Computer enthusiasts on the other hand like PCs because of its customizability hardware and software wise. But if you're going straight for audio, video, surfing, word processing, etc I see why people can like them because Macs work very well for all those things.

frankly the reason i hate vista is only because its annoying!!!

I have home premium and I find it more than adequate. I can't justify a reason to pay $100+ dollars to upgrade to ultimate.
