I just reinstalled steam and HL because I keep getting a code 101 error from CD.Anyway, I was able to play HL when I only had 15% of it downloaded.Is that wierd, :?: Could this be why I'm having trouble with HL2?maybe I have it all downloaded but steam thinks I don't.I really have no idea...

Ok im at 57% now now and I just discovered that I have to keep telling the steam to keep this game updated under the properties tab.That is really wierd, even though it set to keep updated I still have to reselect update for it to keep going.ffs, no onew else is having this problem?Anyone willing to host their .cfg files so I can download them.I don't think it is illegal, think!

I wish they would post a lnik where I could just download the cfg files off steam because steam aint working for me.

I had it downloaded once I just forgot to back it up. Argh

The first time I pre-loaded HL2 and it download without a problem.Now It just says updating but it won't finish downloading.Anyone know how to fix this.Can I preload it again somehow?

No I just mean restarting.Even on very low settings it still crashes. a game like Diablo 2 shouldn't cause a 5900XT card to overheat.We already check the temp and it isnt overheating <-- the 1 thing we can be happy about.What bothers me the most is it only crashes on game I like to play.For instance, my brother just bought need for speed underground 2 and he plays it with the graphics "juiced" and doesnt have any problems.

thanks guys, hopefully I'll get this figured out tonight. going to switch graphics card tonight and see if it runs.I noticed that after a fresh reboot I can play for about 5 minutes before a crash. But if I restart the game right after a crash it will crash again almost instantly. Wierd eh?Check back later for more of my problems hehe.btw, I'm close to throwing down about $700 on a computer I just put together on newegg.com

ummm, I just installed new graphics card drivers and then ran scan disk, I played for a few minutes then crashed again.It is giving me a memory error but like I said my brother said the memory was good. I'd like to check for myself though, how do I check the memory?Is it possible to check the memory of my graphics card?How do I reinstall directx?

I haven't touched any of yhe override refresh rate settings.
