  1. i did not know that: thanks for the info!
  2. I've looked on eBay for Half-Life 2 (preferably Silver, but I've looked at Bronze, too) and a few things (besides lack of money) have stopped me from buying. If I buy a serial from someone, what's to stop him from selling that same serial to someone else later? If I buy the game-in-a-box from someone, how do I know they haven't already used the serial for themselves? Now, I've seen quite a few auctions for the entire steam account (especially when looking for Silver). The fact that I'd have to use their account is a bummer -- even though I could change the associated email and password, I'd rather keep my current steam_ID -- but I can't think of any way I can get screwed going with this option. That's my big question: How can I get screwed if I buy the entire steam account with HL2:Silver attached?
  3. exactly.
  4. "Innovative Use of your Sig", he said, quickly and promptly adding "http://www.2flashgames.com/bhh2okjn23nrl23/flash/f-281.swf" to his Adblock filter.

  9. To whomever (first) buys me Half-Life 2, I will send a $15 Best Buy gift card, two free Blockbuster Rental cards, and whatever money (usually less than $20) I have in my wallet at the time. To make things easy, Here's a Link to my Amazon Wish List. Thanks in advance!
  10. ah -- i figured that's what you meant, but given the amount of "shows" in the original post, i asked just in case.
  11. "that show"?

  14. ...you'll notice it's ONLY the first season. although the library has at least the second and third seasons (and probably more), that's the only one I got. that show = crap. fin.

if you have any questions as to how it works, the best thing to do would be to click around and read the FAQ. also, there is no risk in using your credit card. all of the offers are from respectable establishments. they said it would be hard to get people to do it. they were right! i've had nine people click my link, but only ONE finish an offer (thanks, statecop)!
  18. So, okay, you know me when it comes to internet and iScams and the like -- I'm very cautious, very suspicious. But very recently, two web sites I trust and one friend have all participated in a "Free iPod" offer and succeeded, so I've done a little research and decided to give it a go myself. Basically, I sign up, I complete one offer, I refer three friends who also complete one offer, and I get a free iPod shuffle. If you're one of those friends, you get three of your friends to play along and you'll get a free iPod Shuffle. It's completely on the up-n-up and completely legal. I'd suggest you cancel whatever offer you complete as soon as it has been recognized as being completed, except for the fact that ads and referrals and memberships is how the service works. Without them, it would collapse. So. Do me a favour and play along?

she would never, EVER, use that name under any circumstances, for any reason. and in fact, she punches people who -do- use it!

she does enjoy the occasional first-person shooter; but prefers slower-moving (splinter cell), and hates keyboard/mouse -- she'll only play with a controller! girls!

I know most of you don't know me all that well, but this is one of those "gotta tell everyone"-type things: http://home.comcast.net/~deovolenti/ringsmall.jpg ENGAGEzz0r'D!

i have defragged, and the thought kind of crossed my mind that it's because my HDDs are full. -would- that have an effect? i've tried that, and it helped a little. but it's no miracle-fix i was hoping for!
