Ten months ago, my Firearms ran smoothly: 85fps (my monitor's max) constant, never any lag, ping of <50 on every server, US and UK alike, all on swbell DSL. Then I moved from Texas to Indiana, and just recently got Comcast Cable. Now, I get barely 40fps and it drops drastically in firefights. The first time I shoot any gun during a session, the game freezes for a half-a-second. I get spikes all the time, my game stutters frequently, and my ping is well over 75 at all times. As far as I can remember, the ISP and XP-SP2 are the only differences from then until now. Why is my game running so slow? I used to get a good 3:2 K:D ratio, but now I'm lucky to get 1:1. that's depressing! I don't really "do this" "every few months". just this once, and for about nine months. for those of you not "in the know": I randomly moved to Indiana on a whim, and have had no money for internet access. My Parents, nice kids they are, are buying me internet for a year, starting tomorrow. Hot Damn.

In-game a few minutes ago, someone asked why I was sucking so badly, and I mentioned that I wasn't on my computer. Excuses, excuses! Teladro asked why not, and I told him I'd post on the boards. Last friday I decided to move from Texas to Indiana. Spur-of-the-moment decision; I grabbed some clothes, my ps2, and my computer (no monitor). The necessities! I got my stuff to Indiana, but the kids I'm staying with then went on vacation, so I'm staying with a friend here in Lexington Kentucky. Without my computer! Without a car! Without anything to do but play FA horribly on a sucky computer that I can't fully tweak to my liking! Alas! Monday. I'll be home (Indiana) Monday. Of course, without a monitor... Woe! in an hour and a half? that's an incredibly short turn-around time. not everyone checks the forum every day, much less every HOUR.

it does that to me in 1024 mode, but when i take it to 800x600, it works fine. try that?
