Mardi Gras
Well, since my town created the holiday here in America, schools are out for the next 3 days and a lot of the local businesses close tommorrow. As for me, I used to celebrate it but when it happens every year it kinda loses it's glamour if you're not the "party hard" type. Although, it's interesting to see how many people don't know that Mardi Gras didn't start in New Orleans... Heh... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mardi_Gras

Command Score?
They didn't really take that long for me. Just do your best as a Commander and you'll get their sooner than you think.
-
Command Score?
No, I think the bonus only counts toward your global score. Not 100% sure though.
-
Command Score?
I believe it counts all commander points you gain. So basically, whatever your points are for the end of the round counts toward the 1000 goal. At least that's what I noticed when I was working on my silver badges.

Hey there Armory.
OMG, now I'm going to have nightmares of Joe... :warning: Oh and welcome to our strange little neighborhood. Careful not to let the phrogg bite you, he can be a bit nasty with that sharp metal tooth of his.

Command Score?
Oh, it's an average! Now I get it... LoL! :warning: I could never figure out exactly how it calculated the score for the bronze requirement. I tried so hard to get the bronze that by the time I got it, I got the silver shortly after because I met all the requirements during my quest for the bronze ones. Hehe. As for how long a round lasts, it really depends on the conquest map and how good the 2 teams are. I've had some last quite a bit more than 25 minutes. P.S. I know you need bronze before silver. Heh.

Command Score?
Well, if you are trying to get the badges then good luck. I have both my silver badges an I'm still not sure how you get the bronze badges. I thought it was based on the Commander Score that you see on the scoreboard on the end of the round, but I exceeded the required amount several times and still didn't get the bronze. When I did finally get it, I have no idea what I did to get it... I do know that you don't get them until then end of the round.

Grinding: a.k.a. killing the same mobs for hours on end then when you level, you move on to the next group of mobs and kill them for hours on end until you level, etc. Wash, rinse, then repeat. UO, EQ series, DAoC, and many other were this way. WoW, at least, allowed you to quest to level or you could grind if that was your preference. Blizzard never forced you to do either, you had a choice and both were just as rewarding. Well... except when you got to end-game raiding... But, this is just my opinion.

The advantage to both of us working: The wife usually wants time with the baby on some nights, so it frees me up for gaming (when I don't have things to do around the house).

A.K.A. Vanguard is another grindfest MMO. No thanks.

I gave up WoW in October when BF2142 came out because not only was I getting bored with the game, I knew my play time was about to end when the baby got here (she was expected in the first of Nov). I will tell you to expect very little free time for at least the first month. She'll be too tired from labor to do anything and the doctor will more than likely have her on bedrest so you'll be doing most of the work both around the house and with the baby. In the second month, it will get a little better. My best suggestion is for both of you to get some "Me Time" where one takes care of the baby for a few hours and the other take some time to themselves (read a book, play a game, go shopping, etc). That was you are getting some time to relax. Taking care of a baby is a lot of hard work. In the third month, it gets a bit easier. The baby will be more in control of body functions (easier to burp, etc) and you should be helping it develop a sleep cycle. Just this week (at almost 4 months), we've started adding a bit of cereal to her formula. Now she goes to bed around 9:30 pm and sleeps until almost 6:00 am in the morning. I'm so used to going to bed at 1:00pm from taking care of the baby that I can get more game time in at night. The wife goes to sleep early and once the baby is in the crib, I take a monitor reciever into the computer room with me so I can keep an ear out for the baby and I get to play for about 2 hours. What we've managed to try so far is for both of us to try to get at least 2 nights to ourselves during the week and then we trade off on the weekends (one watches her Sat morning, then the other watches her Sat afternoon, etc). It's not working out too well, so we'll be trying a different schedule next week to see how it goes. Expect your 8-9pm game time to still exists when the baby is my daughter's age. Now, as she gets older, I expect to slowly start getting my game time back to normal. Heh.

What was your favorite unlock?
Anything that helps me kill stuff. Now if only I could get an unlock that warns me when Phrogg is nearby...

That may be true, but you have to admit, EA has some serious marketing and distribution power at its disposal. The game of 2007 for me is Hellgate: London. They ended up teaming with EA and letting EA handle the distribution of the game when it goes gold. EA doesn't have any say in the development of the game, thankfully.

Badges/Pins/Ribbons/Medals You'd Like to See
I didn't have a problem getting either of those. I got my medic badge in conquest by not fighting and just following people around with my hub in hand. If I came across a group "holed" down at a corner, I'd toss them a hub and keep going. Sometimes I'd toss a hub down and hold one in my hands for faster healing if several of them were hurt. As for repair, I did it on a titan match. Just have the Commander move the titan into a good support position. If he places it right, it'll be in a key area so the guns will be getting nailed because they're so freaking effective. Just repair the crap out of them. I managed to get my bronze and silver in the same round because of this. I happened to be commander because I was working on my titan comm silver at the time. I've become a pretty decent commander now. Heh.

What exactly is a "titan drop"?
Darxan and I need to log some additional titan time tonight. I had to go join another titan server last night because ours was empty. I'd much prefer playing on our own servers, they're much nicer. The titan drop pin is the only pin I don't have yet. I've gotten all the others many times already. Hehe.

How about the fact that none of the medals give you anything whatsoever... or at least not from what I can see... Seems a waste of rewards if they don't give you anything other than a shiny virtual dress uniform chest...

What exactly is a "titan drop"?
Actually, we were talking about this the other night in Vent. To get a "titan drop", you need to fly the transport over the enemy titan and anyone that "pods" out of your transport has to land on one of the two "honeycomb" textured platforms in the back. If they do, then you get a titan drop point. If they land anywhere else, be it on the very top, or on top of a crate, or even through the vent holes themselves, you won't get credit. Oh, and you also need to be flying below 300 feet to get credit. High-altitude drops don't count. This is probably the hardest pin you'll ever try to get (and the ribbon/badge that goes with it).

Hey, StateCop. Haven't seen you post in awhile. Yeah, I'm in the port city for now. Born and raised near here. Been sticking around due to some family issues (stepmom recently passed away from cancer and my dad's health is slowly going downhill over the past 10 yrs from heart problems). We might move somewhere, maybe Colorado, in the future. Right now, I'm busy with the 3 month old. Anyways, back on topic. When I mentioned UO, I was referring to the PvP free-for-all playstyle. I hated that with a passion. I can't stand 80% of MMO players these days. They have no morals or personal character when it comes to gaming. They do whatever gets them off, even if it involves ruining someone else's fun. I just want to find me a group of like-minded gamers and enjoy my playtime. Plus, I hate grinding almost as bad as PK'ers. I get bored easily. I'm all about exploration, not grinding levels away.
