Meh, it won't be the same IMO. With the original creators no longer at Blizzard, it will be a whole different team working on it. That's even IF Blizzard decides to make it. Bill Roper and crew that ran Blizzard North are the ones that made randomized dungeons mainstream. They are taking that randomization to a whole new level with Hellgate. Randomized quests, random stats on all weapons/armor, mods that have random attributes (think socket gems but ones that can be removed and reattached infinitely), random dungeon layouts, random dungeon special encounters/quests (those that only appear while you are in a dungeon, not beforehand), and much more. They are still on track for a Summer '07 release. I've been following Hellgate since it was announced so I'm having to be patient too. But Mythos looks to be a good time filler until then. :thumbsup:

Yeah, that's a good thing. I hated walking up to one but not being close to it and getting blown up before I could stop.

Just know that it will be a multiplayer only game being distrib'd through their Ping0 software. Something I've found that they have both singleplayer quests and epic quests (requires a full party of 5 people). Plus, you can only hold 12 locations on your map at any one time. There's a ton of other features, but those 2 are kind of interesting to me.

This is a Diablo-clone being created by the makers of Diablo (Flagship Studios, the same guys making Hellgate: London). The best part is that they are aiming to make Mythos free to download and free to play. It's currently in Alpha and it looks really nice. Anyway, go ahead and join the Mythos kingdom. They pull their testers from the kingdom database. http://www.mythos.com/ I'm a second phase Alpha tester so I haven't had a chance to play yet (they are only testing at certain times and they are adding a lot of content this time around so we're waiting to test). The NDA has been lifted so I'll make some screenshots for you guys to see. There are a few videos available but only Alpha testers can get access to the forums where they are posted.

Well, as for me, I prefer Assault Lines over Titan with NS. I don't mind the occassional titan but they aren't what EA made them out to be. I thought they'd be different in NS but they really aren't. I absolutely love Leipzig, Remagen in AL isn't bad either. But Titan on Port "Barf" gets old fast, even though AL on that map isn't as bad. My question is that could we rotate the AL and Titan maps? Last night was kinda boring when I spent 2 hours on the same map. Playing Assault Lines AND Titan back to back using the same map was terribly dull. I was thinking maybe move the maps around a bit so that you aren't playing the same map back to back. Is that possible?

Some of us work and don't get to play during the day but have 'Net access at work. :thumbsup: If I could play, I'd be there. Trust me.

EA has finally updated the BF2142 Player Summary with Northern Strike info. All awards and unlocks have been added as well as player stats relating to Northern Strike (including time played). I ended up with both bronze badges, both silver badges, a gold badge and 3 ribbons in less than 6 hours of playing the booster. :thumbsup: I only have 2 unlocks left to get. NS seems kinda short to me. Once I have those other 2 unlocks and the pin, there's nothing else for me in NS except just playing...

Same here, I'd love to take the day off and play NS all day but bills need to be paid.

I was enjoying the game until I got some wierd "There is a problem with your connection" error. After losing connection to the server and coming back in, my soldier was bugged for the rest of the night. It refused to give me my Brig General rank, both of the Artic silver badges, and 2 of the new ribbons. Needless to say, I was pretty annoyed and frustrated. Especially when I ran over about 8 people at once with the speeder. That should have given me my Operation Snowflake ribbon.

Cheaters tend to screw things up. That sniper probably was using hacks to increase his view range and probably had some illegal ammo.

Not if you count shaving. I can't stand to shave. But my wife doesn't like the "mountain man" look. I'd let my beard grow out if I could. Less hassle.

Well, maybe in a few weeks we could add some normal maps to the NS server for a slight change. But I agree with Gator in that we need to make sure anyone who plays on the NS server actually has the booster. I personally plan on playing NS for awhile before going back to City or even another titan server.

Well, maybe you just need to experiment. The number of class & implant combos kept me going for a long time. I only stopped playing because BF2142 came out.

Welcome and congrats on both accounts, mate! I have a 4mo old myself. Kinda hard to find game time but I do manage. Get as much game time in now as you can, it will be sparse for those first 3 months.

Someone asked me for a link over the weekend but I can't remember who it was. Sorry. I've been playing Dystopia since early beta and it's a great game. It has a lot of Cyberpunk/Shadowrun atmosphere to it. I've really enjoyed playing and it has a decent player base when I was playing. I imagine it's gotten only better since they've released their official patch and gotten out of beta.
