  1. You know, you might be better off purchasing the graphics card separately when you can afford it. You can get a 320Mb 8800 GTS for <$300 and that will handle even upcoming games. Excluding that, I'd get the 8600 GT as that selection might alter PCI-E power availability in the system (as opposed to the integrated). Of course, I am not certain how Dell handles the components.
  2. I hold places 16 and 17 on 2142 City Maps Just noticed my roommate, ACEHAMBONE, is #42. That will make him happy

  4. Favorite plasmid? Telekinesis! Grabbing rockets, grenades, barrels, gas tanks, corpses, and hurling them at splicers is my favorite thing
  5. Good to hear from you arahman, hope to see you in game soon. Yeah, I've devoted a lot of time to Bioshock as well, it's fantastico!

  7. I always join the losing team if it's heavily unbalanced. Unfortunately, I suck, so sometimes I just make the team worse. I have a knack for accidentally eliminating entire squads of my own teammates. It doesn't help that my keyboard and mouse has recently been infected with an evil sentient creature that happens to be better than me (at teamkilling). Also, did I mention how stupid I am? Wow, you woudln't believe it, I can't describe it because I can't wrap my skullmeat around it.
  8. Welcome! Can you remove your knife please?

Hey, vinyl and mp3 players can coexist! In fact, a lot of the records I have purchased recently included a coupon to download drm-free mp3 versions of the album. I have a Zune and love it. I prefer the interface and the clicky buttons...and it's red sans U2 namedrop.

  14. Awesome, checked my order status last night on Dell's website and my new laptop is finally shipping! It has been on backorder for over a month now and I was worried it was going to be delayed again. Just had to share the excitement with someone.
  15. Destructible environments must wreak havoc on the network code. I'm excited but hope that the multiplayer Battlefield games aren't abandoned.

Yes, everything I hoped it would be. It was well worth the wait
  17. Welcome, I played with you the other night. Look forward to seeing you online
  18. I have a zune, just bought the newly released red version a couple of months ago; I absolutely love it. I have owned many different mp3 players from different manufacturers and the Zune is my sweet spot for what I'm looking for in a hard drive-based player (I use a flash-based Sansa also); however, it really just depends on how a person is going to use the device and the music. I do not use iTunes or purchase music from iTunes, so the zune being incompatible with these songs is not an issue for me. I subscribe to emusic (have done so for years) and am not interested in the other online offerings. The Zune works for me because I only need it to play DRM-free mp3s.
  19. I saw this at Quakecon yesterday; it looks interesting, but still needs a lot of polish

That's a bit of a letdown, hopefully it will come together well
  21. This happened to me before, the solution I found, and others have used, involves changing your in-game video settings enough to force optimization during map load. After successfully loading I was able to revert back to my custom video settings without a hitch.
  22. I agree, this is getting ridiculous. We should hang, shoot, and kill the person that wrote it...by the way I'm leaving the country.
  23. A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, a peaceful leafy green planet known as Saladia floats alone in the ether of the galaxy. OR DOES IT?! Unknown to the Saladian races inhabiting the planet, a sinister alien species plots to bring fruity destruction to Saladia; they are known as BAD APPLES! Their weapon? An idea. A simple idea completely alien, literally, to Saladians: Fruit...goes...BAD! Now, an epic battle between two opposing factions has brought complete economic and cultural collapse to planet Saladia. After a millenia (in salad years, that's like 2 days at room temp) of battle, only two sides remain. Saladia's only hope lies in the form of a hapless intergalactic traveler, Mr. Baked Potatohead; this vessel of unity and compromise, a baked potato, is the only way to unite these two factions and save the galaxy from BAD APPLES. The end. First, let me apologize because this is: Poorly written Embarrasingly derivative May contain peanuts A waste of your time
  24. Congratulations man. Now you can come work in my secret underground lair! Oh wait, it's secret. Crap, now I have to silence all of you...sorry

Anyone going to Quakecon this week(end)? I won't be able to make it tonight but I will be there tomorrow night (Fri, 08/03/07) and also Saturday all day. If anyone else is going let me know and we can synchronize t-shirts or something.
