I've never been able to invite someone in game. I think me, Slashdawg, and DEFCON tried it and it didn't work.

I turned on my computer this morning and as soon as it gets to the desktop I get a warning from Avast about C:\ Program Files (x86)\ Activision\ Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare\ iw3sp.exe Apparently I'm not the only one getting this either because I've seen others post about it on another forum. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

I did it a couple of times when there was a bunch of people in one area and they didn't like it.

At least they are the same for both games, but a GTX 260 for recommended?

It's a good thing there will be dedicated servers in this game (shouldn't they be in ALL PC games anyways?) especially to kick/ban suspected hackers, unlike MW2 where you have to leave the game because there's too many hackers when half the "server" is hacking and they headshot people through 3 walls without even really aiming.

The Avira one is apparently a false positive. At least that's what I was reading on the IW and Steam forums.

I've been playing MW2 but will play BF2 if we can get a few people tonight or tomorrow and maybe raid a server.

Ok I think that worked. Going to set the video settings first then try it out. EDIT: That worked. I put +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 in the target line in the shortcut. Thanks ifrit.

I just installed the game but at the end while trying to install DirectX I get this message: Battlefield 2142 was unable to install DirectX. Please ensure that DirectX 9.0 or later is installed. So I install DirectX 9 manually and I run the game and it isn't in fullscreen. There's a couple of inches off at each side, left and right. I'm going to reinstall the entire game by running the setup.exe as Administrator and see if that helps.

Just got 7 installed. It did it very quickly, probably only 30 to 40 minutes.

Looks like Xbox because I saw the red "B" button that's on the Xbox controller.

No dedicated servers, doubt many people will buy it unless they add it in with a patch.

In the server now, not looking good, noone has joined.

I'm in the 2142 Titan server right now.

This is lame, was hoping we could give the clan some life with this game but it doesn't look like it now. I'll still get the game for singleplayer and the new Spec Ops game mode. But who knows maybe they will patch in the dedicated servers like they did with Call of Duty: World at War? Also they are using a program called VAC instead of Punkbuster.
