Real Life COD4: SDMC
Thats good enough. 300 meters used to look like a small target to me, now its huge. I also learned how to use the windage & elevation knobs on the iron sights too.

Real Life COD4: SDMC
For all those who don't know what SDMC means (everybody loves acronyms!!! ), it stands for Squad Designated Marksmanship Course. It is taught by the National Guard Marksman Training Unit (NGMTU), and is, i think, the only unit that can give Form 1059 for the actual course. It's a Expert Rifle Marksmanship course is a 2-week class that is taught at Ft. Robinson in Arkansas in Little Rock. Some of the things you are taught there is shooting with a regular M16A4 hitting targets between 100 and 600 meters with iron sight and with a 4X zoom ACOG. For anyone who shoots, its hard to keep a steady shot out to 300 meters and hit it consistently. We were taught how to shoot prone, keeling, and standing; although we only qualified in the prone. Zeroed our weapons at 100 yards though. Meters and yards can get very confusing to some. the SDM is also taught the different ballistics of 5.56mm ammo, affects of weather and gravity on the bullets, wind conditions, bullet trace, and watching mirage. :warning:COD4 is infamous for a somewhat inaccurate ACOG:warning:...which can be true when shooting something closer than 50 meters. The Advanced Combat Optic Gunsight, for those who didn't know exactly what it meant, isn't meant for CQC. Its moves just as much in real life as it does in the game and then some more when fatigued. The Squad Designated Marksman is a rifleman, and part of the squad. He is not a sniper nor does he work as an individual. That is the SDM's primary mission. The SDM's secondary mission is to be able to effectively place fire on an opponent that is 100 meters to 600 meters out and take him down. If their are any thoughts or questions on the operations of a Squad Designated Marksman, please feel free to do so. That's where i've been the last two weeks.
