  1. I just played one of the greatest, if not greatest, games of FA not five minutes ago. The map was ps_sandblast and I joined Red immediately but then to my dismay watched the Blue team fill up with the veterans of FA and the talented players. My team filled up with semi-new to new FA players and people I have never played with. I suspected that Blue would rush, grab the central bunker and then push my team all the way back to our base, murdering our team along the way. Blue did grab the central bunker first but a team of red snipers and rushers held them there. I had first aid, an mp5, a berreta 92f, bandages and heavy armor with a helmet and arm armor. While our team of snipers harrassed the blue some what successfully, a few players from my team and I continually rushed out to the central bunker, capped it, and killed a few blues until we were taken down. I had fourteen points by the time I first died, and was making up red's difficiency in score greaty (my score was nearly 30 while the rest of my team was just getting to 10 or so). After a few minutes of our futile attempt to hold the central bunker for long, my team started to pull back. Seeing this, I spurred them team on with a few other teammates and encouraged them to assault the central bunker. Blue mortars rained down all around in our charge for the bunker, enemy machine gun fire cut many of our lead assaulters as soon as they appeared and regular blue soldiers attacked from nearly every where. But we managed to take the bunker and after a few caps back and forth we held it for good. As soon as we beat back the counter attack hastily assembled by blue, red machine gunners took positions on top of the bunker, snipers took positions near the ammo boxes and a few brave reds assaulted further - further disrupting any chance the blue had in taking the bunker back. I, in the meantime, went around to all of the reds healing and give out bandages. Both sides now had about forty reins each, from at the beginning of the round where we were down at least twenty reins. Reds continued to move forward, taking half of the blue tunnel (not the one with the ladders) while under constant assualt by the now highly concentrated blue force. Gernades of all types were thrown back in forth in that fierce battle in the tunnel, inflicting numerically indentical casualties for both sides. Reds also took up the attack in the tunnel, lower one with ladders, harrassing the blue with sniper fire and a constant rush to cap their bunker. Unfortunetly, this seemed to be our demise. By continuing the assault on the concentrated blue force, although we had the deciding cap point, we lost many reinforcements - but so did the blue. If we had held back and camped the central bunker, I think we could have done much better. Our assualt continued until both forces had zero reinforcements. Both teams had about ten players each, many severely injured - like myself, with only four health remaining. By then I had achieved the rank of Colonel and had acquired many skills, inlcuding Med 2 - which couldn't help me since I had healed perviously. A few skirmishes broke out here and there, amidst the constant taunting from both sides and the name changing (revealing important information about troop strength and locations) by the numerous spectators, with blue and red losing equal amounts. After several minutes, it ended up being a fellow red medic with half health and myself, with my mp5, and berreta 92f. My chest armor was completely gone and all I had left was full arm armor and a damaged helmet. Now that only two red and three blue remained, I ordered the two of us to fallback to our base - thinking it might be easier to defend in the final battle. Blue continued to camp their base until my fellow red decided to rush their base, in an attempt to end the game faster. I followed him until he went into the blue tunnel and then shorty after, he was killed by the remaining blue. Now I was the only one left, facing the three remaining blue guys. A desperate situation indeed! Seeing how I couldn't defend the open area in the center of the map, much less the central bunker, I decided to abandon the area - an area so many red bravely fought and died for. I turned and hastily retreated to red bunker for some much needed ammunition and then took up position behind a wall, on the right side of the area (looking out from the red base). I listened carefully for the three, hoping to hear the footsteps so I could attempt to ambush them - thinking I might kill one, if that. After a few tense moments of listening, straining to hear against the ambient noise produced by the bunker, I saw a blue (Chaplain Joe Black I think) run to the opposite corner, under the roof where the exploiters shoot from. I immediately dashed across, not even looking to my right for the other two, something very foolish. I reached the side and as soon as I did, the blue appeared from around the corner crouch-moving. He was very close in proximity, to my advantage with the mp5, and so I rushed forward and fired several rounds into his upper body. Luckily I either surpirsed him, or did something right because he wasn't able to fire back. Now two remained, but I expected to die any minute since I had not checked the area before or during my assault on the blue guy. Some how the second blue did not see me because I saw him searching the bunker door way for me. I rushed once again in his direction and upon hearing my footsteps he hit the ground. When I was about to make my way up the ramp to get him, he got up and leaped at me. I acquired him right before he went over my head and killed him with a short burst. Surprisingly he had not fired a shot, and still I ponder his motives for jumping with potential to go way behind me... Seeing my luck continue in two kills without return fire, I sprinted up the ramp, still aware of the third blue. Just when I had reached the door way, a single shot rang out, and the round was over. The third blue apparently shot me in the leg, though any place would have done according to my health. The usual gg's were typed, and then it was over. The battle was decided by a single soldier and a single bullet. Blue triumphed in the end, winning control of the heavily scarred and corpse laden battlefield. Red put up a magnificent fight against the veteran blue force, but in the end they were defeated. An epic battle was to a close, one that will live long in this player's memory. Good game. 8)

  20. I just finished watching the Band of Brothers collection on DVD, an HBO program series, and i have to say it was amazing. the DVD is very well made and presented and the series itself is spectacular. its one of the best WWII films most likely ever made in my opinion - it really captures the time and feeling. so if you got any money laying around from christmas and its burning a hole in your pocket, buy this collection. hands down a good investment.
  21. i need to see that....*hops in car and drives to movie place*
